(2 | 56) 7 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army I was surprised I got as much knightly goodness as I did in this list, plus Joan! NCO Templar gives the Fireteam lots of fuel, white the Santiago is around to protect Joan. Naturaly, Sepulchre keeps the LT Order available for the Templar to keep going. TOMRSOS is there because when is he a bad idea? Also, Sepulchre can do his best Joan impression. It may be worth dropping the Spec. Sergeant for a Blackfriar, just to have MSV in the list. Trusty NCO ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 4 KNIGHT HOSPITALLER Doctor (Fireteam: Haris, MediKit) Combi Rifle / Pistol, DA CCW. So what are the link team configurations you have in mind for those two lists? I'm not au fait with all the new mo links yet.
First list is a duo between Joan and the Santiago, then the HRL OS, Teuton, and Magisters make up a core. Second list features the Teuton and magisters as a core, the Hospitallers as Haris.
Looks guys, all Knights, and all Fireteams! Looking at this, i can only say, how often have mighty have fallen. 10 orders is very risky, and when you are inevitably rushing to the middle of the table you are at risk of getting flanked. Or hacked. Or both.
10 orders is not risky at all. Especially now that people can't take away two of your orders if you go first. 10 order lists are absolutely viable in the current state of Infinity. They can actually be really powerful!
What do you think is the vulnerability of 10 order lists in the context of a battle against, let's say, TAK?
He's mainly referring to the proliferation of T2 in TAK. One hit takes two wounds. Personally, I think that fear of one army should not dissuade people from taking 10 order lists. If your local meta is filled with TAK, then maybe you might want more orders in your list, but for most people 10 orders of HI is more than enough to steamroll your opponent.
The weakness of T2 ammo is that high armor helps a lot vs it since it wounds at the same rate as a normal rifle. T2 ammo is also more dangerous on the active turn with high burst than on the reactive turn with low burst. Personally, I'm more scared of heavy flamer throwers and other nasty templates which can also quickly crush HI links but that doesn't stop HI links from being able to crush order spam lists. Its the nature of infinity, there is no sure bet.
Most of my TAGs, HI die (horribly) to actually small arms fire, thus T2 is really strong as single crit/poor roll on your side means that your super expensive HI is gone. Additional sour point are changes to Joan link ;/
I genuinely feel that TAK and similar light camo spam forces are going to struggle against MO, IA, OS and other such heavier lists with LTL2 and NCO putting loads of orders into elite 10 guy forces. Not got the staying power. It used to be ten guys against Ariadna Camo spam was terrible but now ten guy lists for some factions are probably the best way to go, tough, multi-capable troops with more orders than they should have and no limitations for taking the initiative and going first.
Maybe for IA or factions with lt2 profiles and tactical sense which can squeeze 14 orders out of 10 models. But our only nco is on our most mediocre profile and honestly only being able to do 10+1 order lists our prospects arent particularly good. It is also really odd teutons didnt drop in price to match hospitaller drop, right now hospitallers are just cheaper better teutons
As much as I agree that the link option being as strict as they are now for the Joan+friends list, I would just like to state that this further pushes me into using the Mobility Joan. Her, in a Duo Link with a Father Knight or Santiago Hacker will give her the much needed leash to continue benefiting from cover after a murder spree, and the 6-2 move and spitfire can get into positions that much easier. I'd probably still use the MR version, if I'm ever building a list that desperately need that extra SWC, but so far the platforms we have available wont let me reach that limit anyway.
This is the business I would try .these new links have me seriously in contention about playing any other faction. MO finally has options that REALLY compel one to take a lot of really heavy dudes. CB is finally figuring out how to make many expensive troops look good. They just need to apply this to more factions. Basically every other HI link in the game comes with extreme limitations... If I'm putting two thirds of my points into something, being limited in tactical options is NOT the thing I want it to be. I think we might be focusing on the wrong side by doing limited insertion lists. We are worse at those than something like IA. But we new discounts our focus is pushing to 13 order lists. Doing decent spitfires in order sgt cores, perhaps with a hospitaler haris with its own order sgt. In fact perhaps the reason we didn't get any tactical sense was so we wouldnt compete with IA. Not that i agree with that fucked up line of reasoning, but here is where we are.
