Sophotects original designation was Vedic; they were called Rbhus. Given their place in OSS, how about bringing that designation back? It rubs me the wrong way to have a Greek name in there (and yes, I know there's also Andromeda). Pretty please, CB? ;)
Hey, I will readily agree that it's just me asking for weird things here. I expect to be a minority on this issue :P
My desire to have no greeks agrees with you... ... my desire to be able to pronounce the name disagrees with you...
More of a case that Option shouldn't have entered public domain, was at some point contemplated during testing... It was not removed last minute.
NOt in the copy i'm looking at... https://assets.infinitythegame.net/downloads/profiles/en/v4.2/profiles.pdf
The explanation for most units is that the unit names are from O12 ISCs or International Standard Codes-they're called different things by different people, for example the Fusiliers might be called a soldier on Earth, Gunners on NeoTerra, a Squire in the Military orders, or a veriaty of probably slightly insulting nicknames by non PanOceanians, but all of them are called 'Fusiliers' by O12 to avoid confusion. Sophotecs don't show up in the Steel Phalanx list at all though, suggesting that they're not deployed in the same conflicts without combined forces, so it doesn't really make sense to me that they're encountered enough in the company of Greek named units that the international code for them is Greek...
Deva still have single option, so PDF is saying the new profiles do indeed (bar Haris) are available to NCA.
I'm not a documents guy but I don't think you're supposed to do that lmao. I won't even use that many syllables I'll call her Sophie even if they change her name.
Well it sometimes happens, but usually means that someone is doing something nasty. Plus on its own it's asking for trouble (luckily in this case it can only affect group of hobby nerds).
How do you pronounce Rbhus...I dont think its are-bee-hoos...cause thats what I am saying and its wierd...
