Quick one regarding mines. If a model is in the trigger area of a mine but line of sight is blocked by another model will the mine go off or is the acting model considered to be in total cover?
http://infinitythewiki.com/en/Templ...e_Weapons.2C_Scenery_Items.2C_and_Total_Cover RAW another trooper in front of you won't give you total cover against template weapons.
I would like to add that if that blocking model is an ally, mine will not trigger, which is mentioned in the skill description.
both miniatures were touching a panoply which is how the one blocked line of sight to the other but both were my opponents models
Can I add another question into this thread? When a mine is in camo marker state it is considered S2 for the purpose of discovery right? But for the purpose of triggering and exploding is it considered S0 or S2?
So if my mine is not on the ground but on top of a short building and its base does not touch the building’s edge, means that it can be discovered (S2) but it cannot see the target just below (S0)?
Just remember that a mine doesn't need to ser its target, it only needs to be able to place a legal direct template and those templates draw LOF from the template focus which will be located just outside the attacking model/mine's silhouette. Also a quirk of mines is that since they don't have LOF you have to see 3x3 on them and can't expose your own troop profile in order to gain reciprocal LOF in ordsr to disarm or Minesweep it, so that mine on the roof is very much Clever Use of Game Mechanics.
