No you dont have to. The funny part with inspiring leadership is that you dont spend it on "single" model, thus you can still mask which Joan is a true one ;) (neither "true" Joan has to be a spearhead)

It was especially usefull when Switch was around.

Honestly sepulchre and teutons need a full rework.

Teuton should become cqc center board specialists. Drop long e2ange weps give em smgs , shotguns and nades of the eclipse kind. Bump up their cc to 23 so they can use assault efectively (aka being on 20s still while doing it) and give em stealth some how.

Id say sepulchre could use nbw or ikhol to give em a small boost in cc, we see the art work were they are trading blows with morats.

We also know from their fluff that they are all former father officers from other orders so their cc value should represent that. Or we could make them the true fire superiority option and give em full auto

@Skoll yep MA3 and Eclipse Grenades would do that, fix Teutons for both vanilla and MO.

Sepulchre just needs a baked-in direct template weapon to be effective. They might go the whole Ayyar treatment and get Specialist Operative, too (though I think ITS just needs to rethink specialists entirely, which would be good for every Infinity profile).

Father-Knights should be linkable with any MO fireteam, per the fluff. The Duo option should also be the FO. That would give MO a very ISS-like fireteam option, throwing an ML FK or FO FK in with an Order Sergeant fireteam, and you'd have a tidy little link there to throw about.

Also give Santiagos a Killer Hacker option so more people than just myself take that link.

@eciu as the patron-saint of the Joan+Teuton Panzerfaust list, no, you are way off on this one. Magisters can't possibly fulfill the same role as Teutons for this. Yes, they are cheaper, but they have lower BS, do not get cover, break a fireteam if they do coordifaust, and would consume the core link for the list anyway, which I wouldn't recommend with how overpriced (wretched CC costs!) knights are in general.

This kind of thing is quite capable in Direct Action-type ITS missions:

If FK could be part of any knight fireteam that would be awesome, or be able to duo with any other knight or order sergeant...

Yeah, MO could use some more flexibility.
    • F-Ks joining any link
    • F-Ks and Order Knights able to form Duos with Magisters
    • Teutons getting SMGs, Vulcan Shotgun, Grenades and Eclipse Grenades options, as well as Haris.

What exactly FK would bring in a mixed fireteams of Hospitallers or Santiagos ?

ARM5 BTS9 combi it's not exactly that great (as for 44pts)
AHD would directly compete against Fersen in case of Hospitallers, although would be at least interesting in case of Santiagos.

I really think only "interesting" profile could be a ML (BS17 ML), but it's quite expesnive for quite "occasional" use.

FK ML in OS link (if he was alllowed to link with them) could be a little bit to efficient (as for MO standard, probably some other faction already has it).

Again OS link with FK ML as ARO ?

Good but giving Harris to everyone is not exactly fun... ;( (some invention for PanO?)

I still think they should get Feuerbachs instead of MLs.

Well, it'd be the only Haris in MO, but I get your point.

If every Order would have equally useful options and ability to Duo with Magisters it could be enough.

I don't want Haris for MO. The ideal case would be to have existing fireteams be good options. Basically every core MO team needs Wu Ming treatment, some cheap commission of close-range skills. E.g.:

SANTIAGO (Sensor) Submachine Gun, Nanopulser, E/M Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. (0 | 34)
HOSPITALLER Light Shotgun, Heavy Flamethrower, D-Charges / Pistol, AP CCW. (29)
TEUTON Chain Rifle, Panzerfaust, Eclipse Light Grenade Launcher / Pistol, EXP CCW. (1 | 29)

And while they're at it, turn HD and MSV2 SS into Order Sergeants, so they can link.

On the topic of FKs, every Knight fireteam could benefit from an FO FK. Nimbus Grenades with any fireteam SWC weapon make for nearly always superior odds against other fireteams.

What a lovely profiles. Boy now I'm 110% sure we won't see them happen as they are just ... to good to be true :(

Santiago Sensor would be a really amazing selling point to make them more competetive against Hospitaller. Also quite amazing option for a DUO (he easily kicks paramedic out of it, allowing TOFOOS to fullfill it's role).

Teuton Eclipse Launcher would probably make "soup" lists of several unlinked knights possible and popular.

I must say I'm quite amazed by the brain-work done by you. All those profiles are interesting and opening several "list building" options.

    Amazing work!

(funny enough Hosp HFT might be happening in a odd moon as there is this rumored Knight Aristeia model coming with an next expansion and mayby he/she will be ported to infinity)

I don't think holy sepulch need rework. They are already usefull as solo assault piece. They don't have the durability but can be as agressive as a FT. If you don't see them nb often that because they are more difficult to play than other knights doesn't mean they are worthless. The dep profil doesn't make much sense though ...

For teuton is used to play them all the time when they could link, didn't compete with mag hospital link and were the only one to get 10-10 mov.

Give them ft back. Eventually give them dogged and impetuous to become real premium warband. Especially dogged would be logical since they don't have cube and are harder to heal.

    The Master is speaking :astonished:
Those suggestions are quite interesting. Of course, the combi KotHS is quite useless, yes. Paying 51 points to just field a combi rifle...

Well combi profile is kind of abomination, and DEP is a sad addition as "one time strong surprise ARO" is good on a 8 pts camo guy (who even can do that twice!) not on 51 pts guy... Also his stats are all around, making him another "general HI guy with combi" aaandd no specialist. He really needs some equipment (even stupid sensor would make him quite desirable against at least Ariadna/Shasvasti or Haqq).

Spitfire profile is usuable. Wouldn't say greatest of investment but it call pull off some kill, and usually throw your opponent back a bit due to sudden ability of MO to "cheaply" clear mines or even have a good chance of walking through ARO piece (depending how much your opponent like to gamble).

But my "biggest" problem with KotHS is that its just simply boring and really dull when you start comparing him to some really well though units like Ayyar, Kriza, Shikami. It's not even "power level" as much as "fun factor".

I don't even really care about the Combi/DEP as a dead profile.

Fine, LOTS of units have dead profiles.

But it hurts that the only live profile is, nevertheless, so dull.

Well, clearly specialists are here because Corvus Belli wants that movie concept of a bunch of soldiers fighting off enemies while some techie watches his LOADING - 87% bar and shouts "Almost there!", or R2D2 wiring open a blast door while Han and Leia shoot, that kind of thing.

The problem is that this forces a player's list to have an arbitrary amount of specialists. In most specialist missions, it's not even that a non-specialist is bad at doing the objective, he can't do the objective at all. By nature that constrains lists due to the opportunity cost of taking a Black Friar instead of Machinist + Palbot + FO Fusilier. FOs (artillery spotters, mind you) being everywhere in newer armies is a concession to me of poor design. Even in the movie example, if the techie gets shot, the soldiers have a way of blasting or blundering their way in.

A lot of newer missions (e.g. Firefight) and the new DataTracker rule have moved quite far away from the ITS I experienced in second edition, but the rot at the core hasn't been burnt out yet.

What I think the design of specialists should be, mechanically, is that they can do the same special objective faster and/or reliably. This could be accomplished in the design of the mission (e.g. control some middle-line object, specialists can remotely control it via console) or by general ITS rules.

For example, it could be the rule that:
Specialists may attempt objectives as a WIP short skill/ARO.
Specialists receive a cumulative WIP+3 bonus after each failed attempt. This bonus is negated if the specialist leaves base contact with the objective.
Non-specialists may attempt objectives as a WIP-6 Entire Order skill.
A player may continue drawing Classified Objectives until he draws a Classified(s) that his list can legally complete.

The other thing I and a few of the old <N3 veterans I play with have come to realize, is that the 3-round limit in all ITS missions ultimately hurt the game. MI, AD troops and healing/repairing are less common since the mad scramble of the 3-round game. That you are free to disagree with, but it's my read.

Sorry for any typos, I'm writing on my phone in traffic here.
