Well, I've ran this before and talked about it. Check out this thread to see how it did bashing skulls of a local snake eater. Oh, and I talk about why I chose the list. For this mission specifically, I was really curious how it would hold up in a mission hell-bent on killing specialists. There's six in the list, plus a lieutenant, and I was a bit worried I'd get the shaft in Firefight.

Like I said, I new it wasn't optimal, but I wanted to see how the list would perform in a more challenging scenario.

Okay, enough rambling. Here's the QK list my buddy ran against me:

I must say, I really like this list. The Sekban form a strong defensive anchor, while the Odalisques can go take care of business. In Firefight, you don't really need a Hafza specialist in the Odalisque Haris, so I think he was set up pretty well.

    Turn 1

I lost the roll and had to go first, but the Sekban were in a great spot to shot down any move I made that was too aggressive. (I could hit 1/3 Panoplies without too much retaliation, but I had to be careful and wouldn't be able to get a likely alpha-strike out).

Maybe a bit too cautious, I spent 4 orders on Saito right off the bat. He dropped a wall of smoke to hide my (overly exposed) Druze Core, and then looted the Panoplies for an adhesive launcher. (I had the choice of this or a chain rifle, and should have probably took the chain rifle, as I didn't use the ADHL ever).

Once the smoke was up, I decided I really needed to deal with the Haris on my left flank. I bit the bullet and walked Ms. Bashi in on my left flank. (This was a really poor tactical choice, and I should've attacked with the MSV Brawler first, as you'll read bout below). The TR bot got a long angle on the Bashi as she came in, but shot at the wrong holo (and missed ALL THE SHOTS). I then moved the Bashi into LOF of the Odalisque Haris w/Rifle, and one of the SMGs. In doing so, shots were declared at another wrong holo, (this time by the Odalisques), and the TR bot struck true. Unfortunately for QK, the Bashi did her job and shot out the Haris Oda. Fair trade in my eyes.

I moved my Druze up into better positions on my right flank. (Druze, MSV Brawler, Clipper, Valerya in the team). MSV brawler was the leader, and took a nice shot at the TR bot that was brazenly covering a large expanse of the flank. 3 DA shots turned the TR bot into a pile of scrap. (Should've totally done this before moving in the Bashi, but I saw the opportunity and got excited.

The Hunzakut from group 2 was also on the right flank, near Saito and the Panoply, so she crawled out prone and managed to pull a motorcycle out of the Panoply. Pretty sweet.

With my orders spent, (there were some other adjustments made around the field), I passed the turn over. I wasn't really satisfied here, so it was a bit of a nail-biter for me while he got started.

    Bottom of 1

An Odalisque SMG moved up and took out my peacemaker, allowing her sister to move up and lock down the panoply on my left flank.

    Then things get crazy.

THREE yuan yuan come in on my right flank, sliding into a cozy little hole that only my LGL can see. Close enough to spit at! Thankfully, dice are with me and the LGL Druze pops 2 of them with his viral pistol. (Would it have been better to try for all 3 with a E/M grenade)?

With two yuan yuan down, my buddy takes an opportunity to blast away my Brawler in the building. This Brawler happened to be my Lt. AND my Datatracker. (Can I actually do that)?

Finally, the Sekban smoke my Hunzakut on her shiny new bike. (I was really looking forward to using that). Maybe it was the rafiq that did this? Either way, the rafiq had marksmanship Lv. 2 put on it and then was put into suppressive. (I'm not a fan of that move, as I think its a bit inefficient).

    Turn 2

Not a whole lot happened here for me. I converted a bunch of orders and ran around with Saito, accomplishing nothing. There was a camo marker near the center panoply, and near my own camo Hunzakut, so I moved my pathfinder nearby to elicit a reaction. No luck, but I had a pretty good idea it was an al'hawwa.

My LGL isolated the Rafiq and immobilized it, which was cool. This was a spec fire shot as my last order.

    Bottom of 2

The sekban did some work, killing the pathfinder, and forcing my MSV brawler to guts out of ARO. The RL sekban shot Saito, who managed to smoke dodge in a hilarious manner.

They smelled blood on my right flank and aggressively moved to the Panoply, scoring one item. (I have 2 at this point). The LGL Druze somehow kept a Spitfire at bay, which shouldn't have happened, but I'll take what I can get. (The spit tanked the saves).

Grouped around the Panoply, and ripe for a couple templates, I'm itching to get on with turn 3.

    Turn 3

The LGL isolates the Spitfire, and then turns the corner and blasts away with the Viral pistol, killing 3 sekban and then getting killed by the datatracker BSG. (I got his Lt. and doctor, so it was worth it).

In the center of the table, my fugazi discovers the Hawwa, then gets redrumed by my KHD. This allows the Hunzakut to grab an item, bringing my total to 3.

Some last ditch attempts at the bottom of turn 3 don't amount to much, so I take home the win.

    Most army points killed: DBS
    Most specialists killed: QK
    Most Datatrackers Killed: QK
    Most Panoply items: DBS
Classifieds: Neither of us scored these

    DBS: 4
    QK: 2

It was a rough one, folks. Any thoughts?

Oh yeah. When I run them, I’m usually taking 3. They proved fairly effective though, and I’ll probably give it a spin myself some day.
