One at a time Gwyn. Unless you get a good deal on them.
That is why you learn to fiddle around and convert stuff. Then this won't be a problem as you can fix it for yourself.
Now I'm torn between "the pilot gets immediately crushed between thicc thighs within normal range of motion" and "this is the most Morat thing in the world, a dick swinging TAG" xD
a nanoscreen won't protect him from the tag itself while he dangles between the legs...
Kitsune is winner for me. Great pose. I have old one, defiance and now this one looks uber cool. And extra head? Yes please. And I dont even start JSA :).
I just got back from Adepticon. They had crap Wi-Fi and I have bad data so couldn't send anything there. I played a game for fun but that's it. I was in the front row for the seminar. Everything looks awesome. They had had a problem though, DHL lost all of the Raveneye books! The same with the Tyrok . I found out it was only be sold with the bundle anyway. I couldn't afford any of that so oh well. When the Q&A came up everyone was asking about Warcrow. I'm interested myself. One thing that was asked was number of figures for playing and Carlos said like around 15 like Infinity. Another asked if it would be some fantasy where it's different races, said at least one faction will be multi-racial. It's like your standard human, elf, dwarf, stuff but with their own twist on things. The rules will be totally different, not infinity-fantasy. D8's were mentioned by he honestly wasn't sure what the die was going to be used. It's going to start as a dungeon crawler game and then move into Wargame. At the end I got a free Agema sniper figure for going to it, and traded with a friend for Saito Togan. Most that I had a chance to at the tournament seemed positive about the fire team changes too. They were not using the rules today though. Had fun and already looking forward to next year.
@Space Ranger Happy to hear you at least enjoyed yourself. Glad you got a model for you troubles. When you do go next year feel free to tell us what happened there as well.
I don't mind the semi exposed TAG pilot too much on the Bultrak, as it's S6 and there's not as much room for a fully enclosed pilot chamber. Given that Morats can put together ARM 6 HI, I can believe that the overall ARM value for the TAG, even taking the pilot into account, is 7.
Now that it's been pointed out, I cee that the arm blades are intended to be mantis-like, but in a lot of the pictures I feel like they just look kind of haphazard and don't really convey that very well. They also appear to be sharp on the outside edge, rather than the inside, which adds to my confusion.
I wonder what is the reasoning behind the Mantis arms? What is their function in hunting or combat?
It looks like they're modeled after the arm blades of the Hungries, Morats will be familiar with how their favourite pets fight and be looking to replicate it with the TAG.
This new Morat TAG must be an elaborate joke. I assume they'll show us the real one eventually. There's no way they could design something this bad on purpose. Beyond just looking ridiculous, the idea that MAF, an army whose ARM 2 models look like other races S 5 ARM 5 models, would have a TAG like this that leaves the pilot totally exposed is just so out of character that it gives me a headache.
Also, for a close combat TAG, it seems remarkably easy to just kill the operator in close combat. He's very exposed.
I'm hugely disappointed with it. A lot of the new Morat stuff has left me cold, since even though they look nice they don't look like Morats at all. This is the first of the new designs that I think is just flat out bad.
I'm not looking forward to waiting 6 years for a resculpt of this thing.
Imagine Morats being the ones to design a TAG which can be disabled with a kick in the balls xD
Another few things just hit me about the Bultrak. They've ON PURPOSE designed:
1) A TAG with a tactical rock,
2) Its stance so wide that it would not fit on the base. Just to annoy the TAG's player more.
3) The TAG "pogo stick controls" mean the pilot doesn't actually do what the TAG does (TAG doesn't mimic their own body movement). He's just holding for dear life to the TAG's dick.
4) The laziest of their TAG sculpts ever, with the unnecessary chonky block of material at the end of the "dick-tail", just so that they do not have to deal with casting detail in the hole between the pilot's legs (red area).
5) With the horrendous pilot as well as the "dick brick" gone, the TAG's cool "face" goes into focus, the mantis blades start looking cool. It's such an easy fix :|
6) The little shit has got his Heavy Pistols on the mantis blades. Bwuh.
I mean, I so wanted to love it, but it's such a red-headed stepchild next to my Raicho (nothing says "violent monke" like having a Ramming Speed torso design!). And the four-armed HI design was just absolutely inspired, it's not like the designers don't have great ideas. No clue what happened here, but if I were CB I'd send it back to the drawing board.
Oh wow. He's taking twice the volume of S6 and would be a pain to transport. Oh, and if that's siocast so arms will keep snapping off.
I'd agree that design is weird since most of the manned TAGs have only pilots arms sticking out and they are usually covered by TAGs bigger arms (so if we apply real life logic pilot is mostly protected). This one is asking for a gut shot from a sniper. Or an arm shot. Or a leg shot.
Keeps me thinking - Morats are a warrior race, there's probably a lot of crippled soldiers there. Why can't soulless EI use them in some XCOM-like mech suits (like Ariadna does)?
Depending on how the individual parts are segmented, I'd probably outright remove the pilot, leave only the crotch piece and fill all resulting gaps and holes.
Yep, exactly. I'd probably snip the Hvy Pistols off the mantis arms and place them where the pilot arms were.
Or... like... someone could just walk up and punch him. I mean, he's hanging right there at shoulder height. his arms and legs are wrapped around the pogo stick. He's super vulnerable.
Its such a dumb design. And seems like the exact last thing the Morats would come up with.
Also, that gun. I assume that's the Hyper Magnetic Cannon. I hope it also comes with an Autocannon option, because that looks awful.
Yeah. If CB was ever going to scarp an idea and redo it, this would be the one.
Despite the big blades giving it +1B in CC, the Bultrak is more a heavy weapon platform for long range combat (+1 Dam on HRMC and Autocannon, +1 B on Autocannon) than a close combat TAG (CC 17 is basic for a TAG).
Considering both Raicho and Vurgoc don't have the pilot arms poping out (and Vurgot not having proper legs), we can consider Morat tech is different from human one.
In fact, we can imagine they have the same system as the Bultrak but in an enclosed space.
I just wanted to point that, I'm not opposing to your view about the design as it's a very personnal taste.
Looks to me way more like an autocannon, there's a muzzle break.
The Karhu looks really cool. Big fan of that design.
In contrast the Nokken looks really generic and blah. I think it's the winter jacket and PanO helmet. Like there isn't anything striking or unique looking about the unit...
Bluecoat is a massive fail. Ughhhhh.. There are so many things wrong with this model, and I greatly dislike them all.
They did dual wielding with the first blue Bluecoat, and the pistol and SMG was a little more reasonable to be all firing at once. The double adhesive launchers look cumbersome and stupid. I'd expect some nobody street punk, or perhaps a more unprofessional mercenary to be dual wielding a pair of grenade launchers. Not an extremely no nonsense cop.
The heavy riotstopper on his back looks really cool. And if we are not getting a box of Bluecoats. (I'll get to that later) A cool aggressive pose with just the heavy riotstopper would have at least let us easily proxy him as three other Bluecoats loadouts.
Selling this guy as a single means there is only 3 unique profiles left for Bluecoats. Not really enough for a box unless they pair it up with a single from another unit. So we'll probably ever see a box of them, or they'll trap a single of another unit, probably a Psi-Cop in with them in the unlikely event they get a box. I feel this is all magnified with the changes to link teams. Though I will admit that Bluecoats have one of the more forgiving link options, all of the ones I'd want to take in a mixed link are the ones we haven't gotten yet.
Alternate Zeta's pose is excellent. Carrying the heavy riotstopper in it's other hand is awful.
Kitsune looks phenomenal. ♡ Wow. Love the pose, her weapon looks fantastic. Pose wonderful. Big win here.
Regular release Wolfgang. Big flop. Is he just ripping a piece off of a dead CA unit. :( I'm really glad I got the other one.
Damn. I love that Marut. Great pose. Made really good use of the four arms. The redesign of the unit itself is beautiful.
Tian Gau has a really cool design. Solid pose. Will definitely pick up.
Love the Curator. Her design is really flavorful. Art of her is really cute. Even though I don't play MO, I might grab her to use as an HVT
Uxia.... well the model looks excellent. Love the pose too. Very aggressive and on brand for her.
My only question is.. why?! We really didnt need another one. We just got one, and so many other Ariadna units could have used a model first. I can't really even justify using her a a normal SAS since CB decided that the one in the Kosmoflot box really should also be a garbage boarding shotgun one...
Well on a bit more reflection, 4/5 SAS have some form of shotgun so I was bit too harsh there in my initial reaction. Guess she'll proxy there pretty good when not taking SAS Uxia. But I still would have much rather seen another Kosmosoldat, Volkolak box, Rokot box, or even a Cateran.
