Hi everybody, im more of a lurker in this forum but i finally decided to share some stuff. For starter my Dakinis. I'll post more stuff soon, just have to take fotos of the rest. C&C welcome, i plan to add some freehand markings/ numbers, if you have any ideas for it, please tell me.
ok .. hell o Black a bit flat could be a bit shaaded but i like this idea is definitly orginal compared to a lot of rainbow piuck you can c recently :) and looking at guns and grey parts i c you can shade :) so good job keep coming - just trt yo shade black to it will add a lot (or wether black . add battle demage or something to make it look more real )
Thanks for comments guys, i agree with black being too flat, i did some airbrushing on it, and edge highlights but not enough contrast still. As I said i want to add some markings and numbers later to make them more interesting, and maybe add another color. But as a person with little time for painting, I wanted first paint them for gaming and spice them up later. I want to have playable painted army, and then add some fancy stuff. What color do You think would fit this sheme? I thought about yellow maybe.
NO no yellow yuo already got green if you add yello it will colorshift towards Green even on black (especialy on black as 90% of black paintsd are actuali a blue paints so Yellow + Blue = Green ) i would go red or orange if may goal would be to add a warmth colour or purple / pink / magenta if cold colour
Ok, i dont want to add orange. Red maybe, but i already have it on my nomads, and i wanted them a bit different than aleph. Glows are teal/cyan, maybe its not visible on the photo. So teal /yellow is cold/warm combination and should work. Another idea is acid green but it will be cold/cold and probably not as complementary. I may also add cyan markings and stay with limited palette.
I like your minimalism, imo the don't need another colour. But my taste seems different to most of the others.
If you add a color, and I'm not saying you should, I would go warm, maybe orange, but very little. A bright warm color will change the dynamic and I would bet make them look completely different. Great job on them by the way. I would hi-lite the black a bit and see what you think from there.
I'm also a fan of a limited colour pallets and monochromatic miniatures. I think your minis look great and personally I wouldn't change a thing.
It is well-painted, but am I a bad person for preferring the looks of the old Garuda? Just the looks, mind you, assembling those was a beeeeyotch!
