(0 | 3) HAWWA I wanted to center it around halqa but failed ;) question is... how is maggie doing and which version do you find most useful, I am particularly interested in opinions concerning tge 360_Visor profile and its usefulness ( # suppression fire)
Well, Maggie is a Main Battle TAG (MBT) with one differential, she's cheap. i like the 78pts version, the one with no 360-visor and HFT, because you can fit a lot of things, protecting maggie and having some space to work around when list building. The 360 option is a good one too, but the thing is that maggie doesn't need to go very far from the deployzone to kill with the Multi-HMG, and the 360 will work better if you advance and can't protect maggie's flanks. But if you want to put maggie midfield in supression, she will use the 360-visor and turns into a freaking scary TR bot.
oh, the HFT is better than the pistol profile because you can deal with markers and suicide troops (like an Oniwaban) easier.
Please elaborate on pistols over hft, very curious... historically i am in the hft forever school... although it did cost my jotum its life once...
Maggie have 2 Heavy pistols, they're good for close quarters, but i find HFT better for dealing with markers. And please, let's hear your voice about pistols.
The Heavy Pistols are good short range weapon, With Template weapons you are giving you opponent a free ARO on your templates. Considering the cost of the TAG i prefer a F2F role against a TAGS BS. I always find it a difficult choice when Maggie is turning a corner and there is a model hiding behind it with something that can hurt her when I only have template weapons. The 2x Heavy Pistols gives her the advantage. When Rounding a corner, the pistols are better vs single decent models, while the templates are better vs groups of cheap models.
I’ve played both and gotten much more use out of the HFT. It just provides more options for you. I’ve never engaged her though. That would be the time I want pistols. Turning corners doesn’t happen much, as she typically sits back or holds center. The one time I charged across field, (to destroy an AC2), I did almost all the heavy lifting with the HFT.
you can CC with bare hands, its damage PH-2. and if you got engaged by a CC specialist, prob you will lose CC FtF, better to drop the template and pray to kill it with fire.
Right. Even then, you should have support nearby to clear up the unit engaging your TAG. Monofilament is the only thing that worries me with this, but I’ve never seen it pulled off in any of my games.
Agreed, but if you need to ARO CC, dont forget that even without a weapon you can CC back. But if i need to deal with someone engaging my maggie, i shot into CC first, with rifles, that way even if i hit maggie its easier to pass the armor roll. CC with maggie is the last resort only. Funny history, my maggie killed a lot dudes trying to CC she.
