Been trying to dig into the background of Spiral Corps (and thus Tohaa) a bit more and stumbled across a thread saying that Helots and Dog Warriors were both a result of the Tohaa Exaltation process (although incomplete in both cases). Which got me to wondering which other races had been Exalted?

The Chaksa definitely are, the Kaauri are referred to as having a truncated version of Exaltation on the wiki... I get the impression that the SymbioBombs, SymbioMates, and SymbioBeasts are more like animal husbandry than direct genetic uplift.

Does anyone know of any others in the game? And are there any decent lore sources I could get to read up on these sorts of things?

    From memory:
They are not the dog-warriors, but the antipodes ( the mention is given by their mind-meld system which requires 3 members, like a triad and maybe also referred to in the paradiso campaign book).
The dog-warrior is a random offshoot with an indirect link through the antipodean virus.

In the exalted races that we know there are :
    - Helots & Antipodes (known to the triumvirate because they are the origin, so unknown to the generalist tohaa faction although they have interogations through their ambassador from memory).
    - Chaksa, which is their most sentient faction of allied fighters.

For the case of the kaauri and assimilated, it is another thing, it is more similar to certain categories of marine mammals modified to serve in certain navies of great power of our time.
This type of creature, is an animal that has been heavily modified, it is more a kind of cyborg enslaved, which functions as a robot or a unidron.

There is the book infinity rpg, which I read very quickly:

In exalted race allied to the tohaa but unknown in the game there is:
    - Koldinuk, who are known only through the rpg.
"Some races such as the Chaksa or the Koldinuk are grateful for these opportunities and have gone on to help the Tohaa ..." "the Koldinuk were never gifted enough to be considered warrior
material. Instead, they serve as bureaucrats and logistical experts and perform other non-physical tasks"

And there have been failures named according to the rpg:
    - Gwyff: "race of methane breathers"
    - Ya’klk’var, a race of armoured mole people

In the chapter: Tohaa biotechnology - Exalted species, it says:
"The Chaksa are but one of the species to undergo Exaltation. Over the Trinomial’s long history, the process has been attempted less than a dozen times. Rather than attempt to list all the species, this section gives you the tools to introduce new Exalted species — or, if you’re feeling creative and adventurous, other alien species — to your game."

If you want more information, the book Infinity: Tohaa Supplement from modiphius provides a vast amount of informations about tohaa (they also sell the pdf version), the book contains 130 very dense pages and few rules.

I'm not sure if I've seen canonical sources saying the antipodes have any Tohaa influence, but it's certainly a popular fan theory.

The fact they work best in threes and the crashed Tohaa spaceship found in Merovingia certainly add ammunition to the theory. I would expect there needed to be a Tohaa presence on the planet to detect the arrival of the first colony ship and reroute the Aurora to Paradiso.

Wasn’t it in that little prequel campaign on Dawn that they released? Like 3 missions iirc, with the narrative dropping strong clues pointing towards this conclusion?

That was the Aurora (the sister ship to the Dawn) after it was diverted to Paradiso by the Triumvirate.

Right- I remember it was also the source for some of the nuggets about the Tohaa’s previous role on Paradiso, and the corrupted Digester.

(Or maybe the Aurora was just referenced in the materials that did reveal the Tohaa-Antipodes link…?)

I’m going to go dig that stuff up and see I guess.

The Triumvirate used the corrupted Digester to to divert the Aurora to Paradiso where they proceeded to start performing experiments on the colonists. However the humans were not as docile as they hoped and fought back, eventually detonating the reactor of their ship/colony. Most Tohaa have no knowledge of this as it was a Triumvirate operation, and the Triumvirate don't exist!

There is a separate fluff piece (also in Campaign: Paradiso I think) of a team of Briscards finding a Tohaa spaceship buried in the side of a Merovingian mountain.

Edit: Yep, C:P has the story of a Briscard witnessing an alien ship buried under a century's worth of ice taking off during a firefight and causing an avalanche, the ship has a symbol on the side that she recognises several years later when the Tohaa officially arrive in the Human Sphere

Yeah, not saying it's wrong, I just don't think I've ever seen anything that makes it explicit. As such, it's a fan theory.

Thanks all, this has been really helpful! And that Tohaa supplement was a really good source of lore.
