I've cherry picked some units from the new starter and come up with the list below as a rough shopping list for the split box deal:

    [IMG] Japanese Secessionist Army
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────
    GROUP 1[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]10
[IMG] OYAMA Lieutenant Chain Rifle, E/M Grenades / Breaker Pistol, AP CCW, EXP CCW. (0 | 28)
[IMG] SAITO TOGAN (Specialist Operative) Combi Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, EXP CCW, Knife. (0 | 40)
[IMG] SHIKAMI Combi Rifle / Pistol, DA CCW, AP CCW, Knife. (0 | 47)
[IMG] YURIKO ODA Combi Rifle, Panzerfaust, D-Charges, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, CCW. (0 | 24)
[IMG] KEMPEI (Multispectral Visor L2) Shock Marksman Rifle / Pistol, CCW, Electric Pulse. (1 | 25)
[IMG] KEMPEI (Chain of Command) Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, CCW, Electric Pulse. (0 | 21)
[IMG] KEISOTSU Missile Launcher / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 14)
[IMG] KEISOTSU (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10)
[IMG] RYŪKEN (Forward Deployment L2, ODD) Submachine Gun, Antipersonnel Mines, D-Charges / 2 Breaker Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 24)
[IMG] TOKUSETSU EISEI Doctor (MediKit) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14)
    GROUP 2[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]2
[IMG] RYŪKEN (CH: Limited Camouflage) Heavy Rocket Launcher, Antipersonnel Mines / Heavy Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 23)
[IMG] NINJA Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Tactical Bow / Pistol, DA CCW, Knife. (0 | 29)
    4.5 SWC | 299 Points
    Open in Infinity Army

The idea is to wreak as much havoc with Saito, Oyama and possibly the Ryuken HRL as possible and then push the core link and/or the Shikami forward to get objectives and classifieds done. The ODD Ryuken will help control the midfield.

Ninja KHD will go after pesky hackers who spell doom for my two HIs. I'd really like to squeeze an Aragoto KHD in at some point, but I'll have to sacrifice some of the above to make that work.

    Looking forward to your advice!

JSA is quite different from what I am used to, you'll see fairly well if there is a problem by simply putting a list on the table.

There is are a few problems in there.
First off Saito is your only way to get out of your DZ. Aside from the Ryuken no one can start the game to take out ARO pieces. A group 1 Saito, forced to play Warband Smoke Screen in turn one is a bit of a meh factor.

That Keisotsu Link with 3 out of Oyama, Kempei, Kempei, Yuriko is close to the cost of a Domaru + Tanko Link and a bit of all over the place. Keisotu's best feature is loads of cheap and expendable backups to maintain the 5 man bonus in my oppinion.

You've skipped both the Rui Shi and Yojimbo for some reason. Not to tell you they are autoinclude, but at least Yojimbo is very, very close to that.

A Shikami, Yuriko, CoC Kemp, Oyama and Ninja KHD is more than half your list waiting for some prerequisites to happen before they can enter action to be useful. For my taste some of them should make room for Orders to fuel the others, 5-6 pieces that want to be fueled at some point should be enough, you're currently at 8.

12 Orders is a very awkward place in between the benefits (or lack of a penalty) for Limited Insertion lists and an autonomously functioning 2nd group. Ofc this all depends a lot on missions.
Personal advice is that the lack of potent long Range weapons means you will need a lot of Orders for Smoke, setting up favourable Rangebands/CC and killing (because BS11/12 guys with Combis are less deadly than BS15 HMGs).
