Alright. people are starting to get into Infinity at my local shop again, and Im enjoying playing my Tohaa once more. I've already frustrated people with my makaul, and my Sukeul is going ham. However, I've kind of just been building the same list over and over again, with just a few variations. So I figured I'd ask for a neat list to try and play here, to expand my horizons. I've got a lot of Tohaa, and can proxy anything I dont own... So here we go: Owned- Tohaa Starter Pack Hatail Spec Ops Makaul Troops Diplomatic Delegate Hatail Aelis Keesan Chaksa Auxiliar Tohaa Support Pack Kamael Light Infantry Ectros Regiment Gao Tarsos x2 Sakiel Regiment (spitfire) Gorgos Squad Clipsos Unit (sniper) Nikoul Ambush Unit Kotail Mobile Unit (2 Combi Rifles) Rasail Boarding Team Kaeltar Specialists Kosuil Assault Pioneer (k1 Combi Rifle) Kerail Preceptors Gao Rael unit (repack) Gao Rael (single) Igao (single) Neema Saatar (oop) Sukeul Armand Le Muit Mercenary For reference, my list usually runs two Sukeul HMG/Sakiel medic/Makaul Triads, a triad with Aelis, Gao-Rael/Kamael/Kaeltar triad for sniping, and a cheap lt, + cheerleader or two
In my experience people will be frustrated no matter what you play, as long as it says "Tohaa" at the top of your list. If people feel too miserable because of the Sukeuls offensive prowess, try using other triads. Frustrate them with a Triad of Gao-Rael Spitfire, Draal Saboteur and a makaul to shoot them trough the Stratuscloud with msv2. Hell, toss a Kerail in there for good measure and shoot with a Spitfire through smoke. One thing to recommend if the people you are playing with are beginners is to get rid of symbiomates for the time being. People get real frustrated over them all the time. If you are in for a challenge and some order spam, here is a 0 SWC list I am running against friends every now and then: 0 SWC Kerail ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 9 2 KERAIL PRECEPTOR Submachine Gun, Smoke Grenades + 2 Surda SymbioBeasts / Pistol, Electric Pulse. Something you can try, for the lulz (as I did once) is a list with as few Tohaa as possible. As I explained to my oponent, my Tohaa decided to go on vacation and I had to rely mostly on non-Tohaa models (there were some Tohaa models acting as officers): - Chaksa Auxiliars - Kawaii Sentinels - Krakot Renegades - Libertos - Aïda - Rasail Lt. - Kerail - Kaeltar And it worked: the non-Tohaa troopers absorbed the enemy Oders and then the Rasail Lt (Spitire profile) wiped out the oponent. That game was before we had access to Kendrat and the new useless Reex and Longarms, now you cold make a list with even less Tohaa models.
We are all know, that entities should not be multiplied without necessity. I am looking for an advice, what could be built with my units. For home games. May be I could buy one more box, but I am limited in finance for now. (But you could tell me, what what could I buy in future) For now I want to know, what could I do with this. Let’s see, how we could solve it. My miniatures. Rasail Boarding Team with their chaksa companions x2 Kaeltar Specialist x2 (of course with their little friends. I think, they were the main reason for tohaa) Kerail preceptors x1 (with two beasts) Gao-Rael x2 Neema Saatar x1 I-gao x2 Kosuil assault pioneer x1 And Tohaa Diplomatic delegate x1 Thank you!
Tohaa's greatest strenght are Triads, and currently you are very limited in Triad composition. If finance is a problem, I would, for the time being, find a way to proxy some miniatures as other linkable Tohaa models, like the Makaul (they provide, in a single cheap package, smoke, teamplate weapons and close combat specialist).
Lets see... - Sakiel: cheap two-wound linkable trooper that can add firepower or a resilient specialist to a Triad. - Clipsos: cheap TO-camo troop that deploys in the middle of the table. - Kawaii Sentinels and Chaksa Auxiliars: cheap fillers that help protecting your deployment zone. - Sukeul and Draal: Tohaa's best shooters and also with specialist profiles. Also linkable.
@Daireann you could buy a Spiral Corps Box, it was not a very well selled product, so it's quite easy to found in the stores with a big discounts With that box, you will have a bunch of miniatures to proxy or not
Well, due too your advices I ordered Spiral Box. Plus Chaksa box) (I like chaksa). I like nearly all miniatures (except female saboteur. I don’t like her knee. Legs looks a little different size. I hope, it’s not critical to play without her) Anyway, I hope, now I have an options!)
OK, now I have an options. What about some ideas about tohaa list for 200 points? I would be much appreciated!
