Okay, so recent releases for Aleph... came. We had discussions on most things, but lets talk Dart, Optimate Huntress! So, Dart is a character Posthuman, a crossover from Aristeia. She is Regular, Skirmisher, sporting Cube 2.0 and armed with Viral Tactical Bow, SMG, Pistol, Shock CCW, Knife, and a choice between E/M Grenades or Anti-personnel Mines. Okay, so how does the profile look? MOV 10-10, average, cool CC 16, so we're not gonna be using that Shock CCW BS 13 - awesome PH 13 - like a true skirmisher WIP 13 - low for Aleph, but not critical as she's no specialist ARM 1 - 'kay BTS 3 - nice (but awesome in a moment) W 1 - sure. S2 - of course And finally, what makes her profile? Skills and equipment. And hooooooooo does she have skills and equipment. In no particular order: Camouflage - OH YEAH Forward Deployment L2 - not quite Infiltration, but still quite nice Multiterrain - always nice to see Climbing Plus - SPIDERWOMAN! Multispectral Visor L1 - wohoooo, with BS13 makes for nice skirmisher hunter Valour : No Wound Incapacitation - a true Aleph character Bioimmunity - Not only does Bioimmunity make her immune to Shock and Viral insta-death effect (Thus making her NWI useful), but it also means you can use BTS instead of ARM for those Shock hits, so weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Okay. So looking all this together, it sure looks great, right? Spoiler: Except... NO EXCEPT SHE'S A FREAKIN' JEWEL! She can tank, she can kill, she slices, she dices, she's better than Bosch Multimixer! Bioimmunity + NWI keeps her alive moving past those mines, BS13 + Camo + MSVL1 makes for deadly hunter, SMG is nice up close and Viral Bow is great for AROs. With Climbing Plus you can get pretty much everywhere, catch everyone from every wrong direction possible. Give her a few months and she's gonna be known as the Terror of the Table, Dreaded Death, Killer of Kamo, Aleph Aroma, Bearded Bard!* *Note: I kinda ran out of ideas for alliterations, so we're stuck with some of these bad ones.
Poor nagas... They have been one of our beloved bisturi and now they will be replaced... Wait... Why they should be replaced!!?? Two nagas and Dart (plus MK2 hacker) make a midfield position close to the 4 chasseurs from Merovingian. Enviado desde mi Mi A1 mediante Tapatalk
Yeah... ran dart a few times and between EM grenades for isolating tags and hollowmen... and msv1 for clearing out skirmishers whilst retaining her own mods she's a jewel alright.
I totally plan to play both Dart and my favorite nagas in tandem. They complete each other well. I can see Dart either opening a path for a naga specialist (not that they are bad at fighting, just that she's better), or trying to reach the backline to kill some orders while nagas are pushing the objectives.

I love Dart. You can Viral Bow as ARO, and attack with SMG. A great character for sure! Just cant do objectives!
I hate her model but gee willikers do I ever love her profile. I've proxied her a few times, and come to the conclusion that the only feasible way to actually make her better is applying G:Jumper and using the associated price decrease to give her Forward Observer. I'm praying for an SMG Naga that I can use as an appropriate proxy for her.
Well, she has a good range of 8 inch. And CC 16. You need to seriously consider the right use of terrain (as, of course, always and with everyone) to get the best out of her. I am very excited to field her. While thinking about her stealth skills, which I did not use very elaborated in the past due to the lack of silent weapons, I started to reconsider the one-by-one-silent-death-strategy. You need an opening, and then you start hunting. (Maybe it is an idea to use Andromeda the same way . She only has a knife, but she is CC20 and Dmg 13 - man, I like the sneaky play, will try both)
Andromeda has no Camo state, is S4, and has no Climbing Plus. How are you gonna get her anywhere enemy cannot see her?
I like also that she doesn't have specialist operative. Fits with her fluff, that a prima donna heiress elevated to Post-human immortality wouldn't denigrate herself by "pushing buttons". She's a hunter, not an errand girl.
I'm interested in playing around with her E/M Grenades profile. The ability to start further up the board and ready to isolate link teams or rambo pieces is tempting, as my Mk.5 sometimes falls a bit short with no camo or Foward Deployment L2/Infiltration. And we hopefully will have decent access to mines already, depending on Naga availability.
Yesterday I stalked her up the board and killed a tag with the SMG. Order intensive but totally worth it. Also, could have just as easily spec-fired EM grenades at it - PH13 means in good range spec firing on 10s. Obviously the above is all terrain dependant but forward deployment L2 really gave me the option of getting right up in my opponent’s face. The amount of kit she has makes her so versatile. There’s no worrying that she won’t find a job to do put it that way!
I foresee a list made of 5-7 camo markers midfield (Nagas, Dasyus, Posthuman Mk2), an Mk1 and Mk (3-5) posthuman, plus Dart, plus a Dakini Core... and hunting the Sphinx! XD
The amount of times I use the MK5 and his EM grenades is more than I can count. He is my TAG hunter, and now Dart can do it even better.
I haven't been an ALEPH player for a while, but I can share some useful perspective from Acontecimento. Having her out there with two Nagas is fantastic. Suddenly the opponent doesn't know for certain if it's a mine, an E/M grenade, a Flash Pulse, or a Viral ARO sitting underneath that Camo token. Being able to offer that wider range of threats really helps make the Nagas more resilient and scary. Great PH, Bioimmunity, a modest amount of BTS and NWI is so great for detonating mines at need, which can be very valuable when you need to navigate a lane and you're too short on Orders to use a cheaper unit instead. Climbing+ makes her a big potential order sink for the enemy too... If she's prone atop a building, easily able to scale down, the enemy may need to devote serious resources if they don't want her SMGing their troops in the back. Great unit, well worth her points.
I assume it's because of the point decrease, offset by the fact that you'll likely be spending orders on her. Thinking more on her too, she's a great defensive platform. SMG is amazing in Suppressive fire, especially with camo and msv1, but she also has the PH and durability to Dodge incoming templates. And the viral bow means you can't just knock her out of Suppressive and then facetank her... She continues to be a threat with E/M and Viral.
I'm very happy she's Regular - I know it would make her cheaper without impacting efficiency, but she's Aleph, and no this funny irregular business in Aleph :D
