I remember there is a really big rule disadvantages about him, but I can't recall if nor find information about it. Is he really so bad now that nobody is using him? Are there any tactics of advise on how to use him effectively? Because in theory I am gladly pay for Chain of Command, because I like offensive Lt. and he is the only option in Pan-O.
hes expensive and his CoC will not work if he is not deployed on the table when the Lt gets jobbed. Personally I still quite like him as a scoring, non-hacking vulnerable akal that is able to put out B4 without paying SWC. But he absolutely pays a premium for that privilege.
Yeah. He's got some niche use as a non-hackable scoring AD option. But that's a VERY narrow niche for a VERY expensive unit.
No, it worked in N3 too, but some time after HSN3 they released a FAQ and "broke" still snowflake tactic ^^ (truth be told, it was a bit wonky "mechanicly")
My brother thinks of it more as an alternate possibility. Or you take him for CoC and you field him directly in your DZ or you use it as @AdmiralJCJF just said. But we have to admit that he is in the same cost as most of the other CoC so this seems to me one way of thinking it.
I'm not sold on that one, I think it was just a lazy solution on CB's part. I'm a long time advocate of removing CoC from Singh in favor of Superior Combat Jump (and maybe something else if CB wants him to be expensive. Multi/SMG+LFT for example), while giving CoC option to Rao (another character of questionable value).
Maybe if we complain about Crusader Multi loadout CB will think it's bad and give us more? ...Nah, they won't fall for that :P
The thing is, if you want a non-hackable airborn specialist we have the Cube Jager now, not so good in a firefight and .5swc, but almost half the price and faster
Don't know what you mean, man. Rao is fantastic as a WIP 14 LT in a 5-man core of Bagh Maris. Montesa LT with Rao CoC would be great too, but honestly, I don't know what I would choose if I had that choice.
I'm not saying about value for points, that is ok. But for a special character he's a missed opportunity. He's basically a Bagh-Mari with +1 WIP and Assault Pistol instead of LSG. What I'd really like to see instead: BS 13, PH 12 MSV1, Mimetism, Marksmanship L1, Multiterrain, Stealth Combi Rifle+LFT (Lt.) 30 Combi Rifle+LFT (CoC) 35 Combi Rifle+LFT (Infiltration) 32 Vulcan Shotgun (Infiltration) 32 Brings more utility to fireteam, makes much more sense as a CoC model, and has a lot of utility outside the link as well. As for Kirpal: MA L2, AD:Superior Combat Jump, Specialist Operative, Religious Troop Multi Rifle, Nanopulser 38 I'd seriously play the shit out of that one.
Now? It was more dangerous since it had access to Monomines and HRMC, and after HSN3 we've became the PanO sectorial when it comes to hacking... :P
I wouldn't underestimate a 5-shot pistol from a link with msv 1, it wrecks face of TO infiltrators in the middle, especially in densely placed terrain. But LFT would be great, hard to argue with that :D.
