so it looks like army was updated with the new spec ops stuff. thoughts from people on the new builds? previously i liked taking doctor and hacker on a guy with holoprojector and boosted wip, but that seems to not be an option anymore. cool stuff i see in there: stratuscloud for 2 points phero-booster for 6 points hyperdynamics l2 for 2 points bad stuff: i-kohl lvl 1 is our cc skill, for 3 points, where some factions get MA lvl 3 for 2 points. not sure how that is balanced. we have bioimmunity for 1 point less than other people. dunno why. these prices seem pretty arbitrary. i don't really understand this revision of spec-ops rules. every army has their own spec ops, now with different options, but also those options have different prices for different factions? like bioimmunity is cheaper for tohaa, are we the bioimmunity faction?
That stratuscloud is bloody tasty for the cost. Probably something for me like: - Stratuscloud - Doctor - Hyper-Dynamics or Minelayer - WIP15 Pure support, just sit hiding behind the Nikoul while servants pick everyone back up. Could also do an offensive piece: - Stratuscloud - Mimetism or +2BS - Sniper or Red Fury Pretty good anti-link firepower there.
I'm kind of disappointed that there's no Symbioarmor to be gained. If you give every faction their own set of rules, at least make them unique. You can now take a Sniper or Red fury with mimitism and stratuscloud, though, which seems nasty. The specialist operative option for 1 is gone, too. Said.
All Spec-Ops have Specialist Operative included, it's why they now cost a point more than their normal profile.
Yes, I'd like it to be the 7pts piece of gear in the equipment column... It would make more sense that 4 points for a MSV1.
For 7 points? A symbiont armor means an extra wound and a increase in stats. Simply put it would be highly expensive in xp, at least 12 xp for just the symbiont armor providing an single stat increase. Besides, the ability to increase any stat individually already works like a symbiont armor. To sum up, designers probably realized there was no point representing a symbiont armor as it would be a very xp costly option complicated to implement and because the current Spec Ops system already works somehow like a symbiont armor.
It would make sense, from a fluff perspective, to have the chance to equip a Symbiont Armour. But each Symbiont Armour is different, so it would really difficult to implement it correctly, unless it was some simple Symbiont Armour that grants something like +1PH and +1ARM. But then, it would cost lots of XP.
