Hi, I come from the blasted wastelands of Norway, and some 20 odd years of war-gaming, mostly of the GW variety. I just recently got to assembling a box of Operation Icestorm, and now we are running the last mission in the box. Game looks great, I've already started to read the main rules-book and googling random questions that's popping up in our very limited experiments. Some are easy to find, some are harder - like measuring movement..? Can you first check to see if you have enough movement to cross the street? I don't know, and I'm googling like a madman to find out :D
Welcome, glad you're enjoying the game. As for your movement question, you nominate where you want to move and what path you take, then measure to see how far you actually get, no pre-measuring!
Welcome to the community! Some things in the game seem complex or unintuitive, my advice would be to have a look to see if there are any local gaming groups or WarCors in your area; the game picks up much faster with tutelage! In time, we hope you'll find the game to be deep, rich and rewarding for tactical and strategic plays.
