JSA - Gate to Infinity - Domaru+Tanko link + O-Yoroi & support

    Greetings!
    A fair warning - I am Russian and I am somewhat impaired in my ability to communicate and understand - feel free to point all problems in communication from my part to me straight and without any curtail.
    Let us begin!

    I was convinced and intrigued into considering Infinity as a models tabletop game by one of my acquaintances. Firstly, my eyes fell on the Haqqislam, but I prefer seeing heavy infantry and impressive models of heavy troopers on the table – and Haqqislam is not ideally suited for that. I quickly understood that I cannot utilize that faction to its strengths in any considerable way and so I switched my sights all over the range, until I ended up here.

    Now I am heavily considering JSA as my entryway into Infinity with the list down below. In the effort to clarify any misconceptions, I have zero experience with Infinity on the tabletop – although I have experience with other tabletop miniatures games, namely Warmachine, Flames of War, Titanicus, Warhammer 40k and some others.

    I do not look to Infinity with any competitiveness in mind. I am at heart a hobbyist, and casual player. I enjoy the casual banter and some gameplay but sadly, I am very uncompetitive at heart. I will not mule over losses and rub gains in the face of my opposition with glee. However, like any other person, I do not enjoy losing over and repeatedly. Therefore, for my starter, I picket this list.

    Domaru + Tanko in a link (that should be right). The rest is support to them. We have some good CCW, some ARO, some long range (albiet limited) shooting, some specialists and some fast bikes, some smoke and some support.

    If any of you kind folks can share any thoughts on this one here, I will be glad to hear them.

    Points to consider.
    One group. No 2 grous of models sadly - that is a level of multi tasking I'm afraid I will not be able to manage due to my real life medical limitations.

    Obvious pitfalls:
    1) No defensive hackers. That means no firewalls and that leaves our TAG and HI very vulnerable to hacks – but as I was repeatedly told and reassured by some members of my local Moscow community, any HD except for KHD is exceptionally rare.
    2) No Oniwaban or Ninja – no TO Camo and the likes.
    3) No Yaozao – sadly, I could not scrape enough points for this little bugger.

    You have a point left so you can upgrade the DA Domaru to Neko Oyama.

    Hi,

    My suggestion would be to drop the Kuroshi Rider for that List. Sure it is a beautifull model but personally I don´t very like her in such a List.

    When you skip her you can add this for the Points.

    Than you have some Anti Hacker, some Ninja and a YaoZao.

    Additional to that I found that the DoTanko is better as an Defensive Core you can push forward after the first turn. I would rather do the attacking with the O-Yoroi.

    But I am very newbie myself, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

    Hi.
    Sorry if my language is not correct, I am not English either.
    Regarding competitive lists or not always depend on the mission.
    Personally the best core of domarus is that of neko + domaru spitfire + tanko launcher + 2 tanko shotgun and blizten.
    Neko to explode if you get to the cc, spitfire to open the way, and tankos as a defense, I lost the account of the tags that I left inm-2 with the blitzen, a blitzen with r2 is love, and a shotgun in range a danger .
    Personally I do not like to play TAGs and to play it I would put a defensive core (keitsutsus) and would leave as much as an assault harris (dayokai + domarus for example), in jsa almost all harris have utility so to likes.
    I would always put at least one oniwaban and one ninja for missions.
    The oniwaban for me is mandatory, because it can remove anything extremely powerful like a Tag or some fat IP, however, I usually put the cheap because once it fulfills its mission it usually dies, the Kamikaze technique never fails.
    The rest of the objectives can easily fall through the core of IPs.
    Regarding to defend yourself from hacking, you have two options, put an EVO or normal hacker and give bonus of defense of the IPs, or more oniwaban / ninja and hunt the hackers (ninja hacker killer especially recommended for that task).
    Remember that stealth (granted by martial arts) allows you to enter the repeater zone without the right to ORA, as long as you only declare to move and do not have ldt against you.

    Apart from the missile tanko, I would put some other ORA, like the total remote reaction. My favorite staff is the ninja sniper, it is expensive for what he does (it's rare that you use it in cc), but you choose when to appear and active long range (where the enemy is in negative) can destroy most defenses easily to Long distance with your surprise shot (reactions) and allow the core to approach. He is also the only sniper in JSA ...
    Beware of sights and enemies with n2 aiming in optimal range, better not asomes in reagent.

    Another option, Yojimbo, provides cracy koalas, a very good perimeter weapon against paratroopers and infiltrators.
    Yojimbo itself gives you smoke, to advance the core of tankos, that you can also take advantage of with a rui shi, with its V2 viewer and some buff hacker with aiming N2, shoots against everything at 15s in optimal range, not negligible. I usually use it more in Ikary, where there is a lot of troops with smoke.
    Of course there is the option of Kempeitai V2, but putting an IL core in half a table usually goes very wrong.

    Engineer or doctor?
    I do not usually raise something that falls, usually ends up and spend orders for nothing.
    I would put an engineer, either for the tag, or for the IPs if they use something that leaves them INM-2

    And those are the tips based on my experience with that fantastic core.
    PD: Remember, if you leave a leader tanko and leave the domaru more than 20cm, they will leave the link leaving the three tankos. What do you want to do? Because you can make a duo of domarus and send them to hunt things to CC while leaving a "harris" of tankos protecting long distances.

    Yeah, the engineer is good to repair the TAG and against IMM-2-attacks.

    I personally like the Kuroshi Rider together with Yojimbo if the mission is right and you got first turn:
    Race to the objective, grab it under a smoke screen (as she is a specialist),
    maybe leave some CrazyKoalas, und run back to savety in no time (= very few orders due to the motorcycle's speed).
    Or just go on to wreck havoc in the enemy's DZ.

    A profile you should consider is the SMG Ryuken-Unit-9.
    SMG with ODD (and mines) in Suppressive Fire is quite a roadblock!

    TAGs tend to draw lots of fire, so I don't like making the TAG my LT. Plus, it saves me 1SWC.

    Oyama is almost always worth the points to upgrade from a basic Domaru, whether he's LT or not. Note that he must be the LT in this list, you'd be over SWC if he wasn't.

    Domaru/Tanko link is pretty basic, and you can build it by getting the Domaru box and the Tanko box (use the Domaru with 2 swords out as Oyama).

    The Keisotsu hacker is there to try to save the HI link from getting hacked, the program is called Fairy Dust. You could use the Kaizoku Spec Ops model for that.

    The Doc and Engineer are there to either A push buttons, or B keep your shooters in the game. I'd assign the helperbot to the Engineer, but I have a lot of EM and Glue in my local group. If you have more direct shooters, you may want the helperbot with the Doc.
