Okay, so we've just finished a first round of league and I have questions about Frostbyte. I think the version/intention I remember is from old ITS files, but it seems to me you can basically deny some points from the enemy. Connect a Console skill has these bullet points: You cannot Activate more than one Heating Unit for each Console. You cannot Activate again a Console previously Activated. I understand that when Player A Activated a Console and connected a Heating Unit the opponent no longer can activate the same Console and the Heating Unit that was connected using this Console. Therefore it could lead to a situation where Player A on Top of Round 1 successfully Activates all Consoles, chooses 3 Heating Units to Activate and Opponent no longer can score 2 (or even 3 for that matter) OPs. Unless Player B destroys all Heating Units activated by Player A, Player A will score 3 OP. Is my grab on the current (ITS14) rules correct?
As far as I can see you're right yeah. Unmasking is a similar mission but specifies "A Console cannot be Activated again by the same player...", which has the opposite effect - if you rush in first your opponent can deny you the chance to regain those points by pressing them second. For Frostbyte I guess this gives you a choice turn 1 to either kill as much as you can, or spend a lot of orders on the consoles and risk being badly positioned centre-board for a retaliatory strike. But it does make it really hard for player 2 to get more than 5 points
