Hi all, new ish still to this but a general question, and I am unsure if there maybe a history or lore behind this, but why does Yu Jing , a power house faction have a couple of doctors, (and IMHO shit ones at that) If I am reading this right in the army builder, and others have great doctors that's are 2W or 2+ or 3+ etc? Did Yu Jing put everything into bullets and armour and batteries and forget the medical gear in the end? If anyone has some history on this I would like to know more about it as its quite weird flicking through factions and what they have in skills and seeing Yu Jing faction against Haq for example and the difference is weirdly different and am curiously wanting to know why. Yu Jing is the norm - most factions just get basic doctors. Haqq is the exception, because in the fluff it's got superior medical tech specifically. So Haqq doctors are either (+3) or (2W). Recently, Aleph and some other factions got Pavarti who if I recall is doctor (2W), so she's another exception. But the norm is still to not have special doctors.
Haqqislam are a humanist faction with an emphasis on learning, biotech, healing, and genetic engineering. Their planet, Bourak, is also the only source of "silk" a neomaterial used to create cubes and other advanced surgical or medical procedures. Bourak is also a mostly arid planet with a small population so medical services are essential to their survival. Yu Jing have a huge industrial base but also an incredibly large population spanning multiple planets and solar systems. Their doctors are competent but nothing beyond the norm as they've always got more people available. The print rulebooks contain a lot of fluff, in addition there's the Infinity RPG by Modiphius games that also covers a lot of the non-military side of things and has sourcebooks dedicated to each faction.
Like everyone has mentioned, Haqqislam's thing is medical technology. Every faction has their strengths. Pano had the best and most variety of TAGs and have the best shooting. Nomads has the best hacking. Yu Jing has the best heavy infantry and a great range of models. Yu Jing's doctors are average, which is fine. Now if you want to see below average doctors, you look to the Hyperpower, Pano. PanO is by far the richest of the human sphere factions and has the some of the best forces. But the trauma doctor...at least they are good shots.
You also should consider how many of your medical professionals routinely go on spec-ops style missions. This isn't an indication of their overall medical structure for society as a whole.
