Can an irregular order still be converted to a regular order with a command token after its owner is null? We played an Acquisition game yesterday with ITS Recon Bikes. The bikes started the turn by driving to their deaths during their impetuous order, as bikes like to do. Later in the turn, one of the players wanted to convert the bike's irregular order to a regular order via a command token to use on another unit in the combat group. The irregular order is generated and placed on the table at the beginning of the turn. I can convert the order to regular while the bike is still alive. Can I do it if the bike is unconscious, or is the order removed? Can I do it if the bike is removed from the table with a shock weapon, or is the order removed then as well? If no to both of those, can I do it before/during the impetuous phase if I know the bike is going to die and sit on the order to use later? I was unable to find any rules text that explains what exactly happens to the order when its owner goes null, only that it would not be generated again on any subsequent turns.
Orders are only removed when they are spent or the Order phase ends (https://infinitythewiki.com/Orders_and_the_Order_Pool#Order_Pool) . An order does not disappear if its owner goes null. If it did, the rules would explicitly state that that. During the Tactical Phase, the Regular and Irregular Orders are generated (https://infinitythewiki.com/Game_Sequence). Irregular Orders are limited to only being used by the specific model. That is it. So the orders are generated at the Tactical Phase and can be used in the Order Phase (basically the main game stage).
https://infinitythewiki.com/Game_Sequence#Start_of_the_Turn:_Tactical_Phase Irregular Orders Then, for each Irregular Trooper deployed on the table, as a Model or Marker, that is not in a Null State, the Active Player places an Irregular Order Token on the table, making it clear which Combat Group the Irregular Order belongs to. Edit: sorry, i posted it before completing... THEN, if a model goes "null" before spending it, you can always spend a Command Token to make it Regular. https://infinitythewiki.com/Command_Tokens#Command_Tokens:_Tactical_Use
