For the Infinity Global Week this year I’m going to be doing demos all day and my FLGS. I’m thinking I’m going to do 100pts per faction. 3 basic troops, 1 camo, 1 special (heavy, big gun, etc). I’m going to be providing minis so I’ll be limited to what they can play. I might actually be over doing it a bit lol. I think the basic troops are a must. The camo is to show how different Infinity is from other games and it’s a cool mechanic. It’s relatively easy rule to understand in comparison to something like Combat Jump. The special troop is sometimes the most expensive. Having a big gun or some other thing. My problem is the mission. I don’t want just kill each other but I don’t want anything over complicated. So I’m thinking of doing the Battleground mission. It’s a mission that makes them move and do stuff. However, I’m not sure it’s the best for this size of demo. Here’s what I have so far. I can easily also do ISS, IA, Starmada, SP, OSSS but that might be over doing it. Edit: I just remembered I don't want to proxy anything so I had to change the O-12 Epsilon HMG to a Psi Cop MSR. Ive done a few demo games. Ive found the concept of "hitting the button" is one most people really like, and a foundation of many of the scenarios. In very small games like you're proposing, I run a simple scenario where there is a console 4" outside of each dz. The goal is to hit the button nearest opponents dz for a point(every unit in this scenario counts as a specialist) , control the console for a point, and not have the console closest to your dz hit for a point. I find this is simple, yet plays to many of the aspects that make infinity great. Just my 2 cents.
I've adjusted all of my demo forces to no longer have hackers. I think hacking is a bit too much to get at first.
What minis do you have available for Haqqislam? The thing that stands out is the Asawira as it might add a lot of complications. Currently, you will have to explain why viral doesn't work the well against the 3/5 of the CA and Aleph models. It also has the very real possibility of dominating the board by itself. What about: Ghulam LT Ghulam Doctor Hawwa FO Farzan Minelayer Mukhtar Red Fury That shows that Haqqislam relies on the camo game and has obvious weaknesses. It also gives them a burst 4 gun. Thoughts?
I only have older models and pretty limited. But since I decided to not have hackers I had to re-arrange anyway. He's pretty power full but I think it will work out. I also want to keep to only one camo troop if possible. I need to re-work the Yu Jing one because have two.
