I'm finally getting around to theory crafting my IA. Back in N3 My philosophy for IA was that is was THE sectoral to go to if you wanted HI Limited insertion. IA Tier A was zuyong core, Tier B had some S5/Hac Toa with Zhanshi defensive/cheer leaders fire team. Tier C was don't bother playing IA. With N4 cost reductions I can take my old lists and upgrade a cheer leader to an HI. But I'm trying to think if it's worth keeping it at 1 battle group. You can now lose 2 orders turn one even with Limited Insertion. Is it better to go up to 12 models and have something to refill your main battlegroup? I'm still leaning towards LI just because I can get 15 orders on the fire team, while keeping the skills well rounded. What's the current consensus here? I struggle to find a reason to run a Zuyong core over a Zhanshi core in N4, and that more or less means my lists go above 10 models. Also that list is totally illegal. You don't have an LT.
oops, wrong multi-sniper. IA all comers list ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 3 TAI SHENG (Chain of Command) Mk12, Chain-colt, Flash Pulse / Heavy Pistol, CC Weapon. Lately, I've been "upgrading" Zuyong to Shang Ji. Also, the Hulang FTO is pretty good in a link team. Especially if you get him to +3 range. BS12+3 range, +3 team, then -6 Mimetisim, -3 cover can be fantastic. I've found he's still a bit vulnerable in the midfield. He's also a specialist and can counter any big CC guys that come to kill the Shang Ji. The Zhencha can be switched out for the Liu Xing SO. I always have a doctor to keep my guys going. ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 2 DĀOYĪNG (Lieutenant [+1 Order], Hacker, Hacking Device) Boarding Shotgun ( ) / Breaker Pistol, CC Weapon. There isn’t any upsides for sticking to 1 group anymore. 10+1 in N3 was much worse than 10+0. But 10+1 in N4 is better than 10+0 imo.
10+1 doesn't prevent you from using any of those skills though. If you can justify all 10 of your troopers, then that's a thing. But I meant it as if you're forcing yourself into 10 from 11.
Quite true, but if I was making a list and had the option of adding an 11th trooper or upgrading one to something with TA/NCO, I think I'd go for the latter option. If I can get 11 bodies and the TA/NCO, then even better!
Given that it's not hard to make 14-15 order in one battle groups I'll stick to 10 models. I'll use the command tokens to start the minelaying Hulang in suppressing fire.
I quickly tried to put the reasons to play IA into one 15 trooper list and failed, but I do like the look of this 14 trooper list. Ruin it for me. ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 10 1 SHÀNG JÍ (Tactical Awareness) AP Heavy Machine Gun, Chain-colt ( | TinBot: Firewall [-6]) / Pistol, Shock CC Weapon. Oops, she was meant to be in group one, I upgraded her to FO to use the last point and forgot to choose her group after deleting the vanilla version. Fixed it. As for moving the Mowang, I was thinking it would roll with Jeong as a duo, so Jeong could safely repeat unto enemy hackers who could then be slain by the Tinbot-protected Haidao KHD. Move them both? Other than that, I thought the Daoying might do something with those orders as she's still a camo specialist.
Given that most hackers (and the worst ones you need to go after) tend to hide out in the enemy DZ these days that's both a big ask to drive Jeong that deep, and also definitely a one way trip because he's getting killed on your opponent's turn. Jeong's too good to waste on that shit, but granted given the opponent you may feel like it's a necessity to try. If you're hellbent on trying it they need to get out of the KHD's group anyway, otherwise you're going to steal all the orders you need to kill the hackers moving the repeater up.
