I request help from Yu Jing players.

Discussion in 'White Company' started by Pettynyt Pelaaja, Oct 11, 2020.

  1. One of the armies I'm looking at is The White Company. I know, more or less, the PanOceania part of the army, but I have to admit that in the Yu Jing part my knowledge is scarce (and somewhat obsolete).

Someone who is kind enough to help me with the Yu Jing troops, how they are usually used, synergies that they have been seen to have, etc.?
    Any help is welcome.

    1) The haidao MSV2 + Multi Sniper rifle is probably the most pivotal Yu Jing profile in WC. When added to a Fireteam core as the fifth member, it ignores all mods from visibility zones, mimetism and surprise attack, whilst having a very broad +3 range band, usually hitting on 16s, with two very damaging shots in ARO. It can be used defensively as set and forget, or offensively to hunt down hard to hit and tough targets, although there are better hunters (Nisse HMG comes to mind).

    2) Guilangs are a contender for best skirmisher-specialist in the game, with extremely good minelayer and FO profiles. MSV1 gives them the edge in most skirmisher vs skirmisher fights as most skirmishers have camo/mimetism, but few have visors. Taking a minelayer and an FO together gives you a specialist, counter-skirmisher, speedbump and elementary shell game all in the midfield.

  3. Thank you very much for the help.
    Really interesting troop options.

    3) Tiger soldiers sit on the the edge of what a lot of players will happily pay for a trooper without NWI or a second wound but there is almost a mis-spent point on them. They feel very elite. The paramedic is usually the Tiger to take due to the ability to apply their high WIP to objectives (being a specialist) as well as intuitive attacks from the light flamethrower.

    4) Doctor (Yisheng) and Engineer (Gongcheng) pretty standard line infantry doctor and engineers with poor link options. WC has more exciting engineers in the Kaplan and Jujak.

    5) Jujak are pretty typical HI, in WC the engineer stands out because it can link with other HI, and the tinbot also shines because it can share its very high quality firewall with others in the same link. I do not foresee much use for the other profiles.

    6) Guijia is pretty standard TAG, mobile, tough, deadly, not especially sophisticated. It also looks fantastic, but I don't expect the statline to be the reason to play WC. After all, if you were looking to support a TAG with an min-maxed fusilier link, you can support a better TAG with a better link in VIRD.

  5. Thanks again for this interesting information.
Just one question, what is VIRD?

Varuna. The PanO sectorial with the strongest Fusilier link that pairs with a much stronger TAG - ie doing what is suggested here but with better tools for the most part.

  7. ah, ok, ok, thanks. Since we were talking about Yu Jing's troops, I just kept thinking «what is VIRD in Yu Jing?»
