As the title suggests, I need some help with what goes into listbuilding for Acontecimento. Been a long-time PanO/NCA player with looking into SAA while waiting for Varuna to come out (MO just does not appeal to mem which sounds like heresy for most other PanO players :P). Most of it will be proxied at first with what I got so far (that being Fusiliers and Bolts to represent Regulars and Bagh-Maris respectively), but I wanted to know what is solid to run in a list.

Some of things I did want to run from profile and looks along is:
    +Scylla
    +Draikos
    +Bagh-Mari links of any kind
    +Naga
    +Regular links
    +Dragoes and Tikbalang
    +Guarda de Assalto

Out of these I list, how viable are each of them? Also, what kind of general tips should I know for running Aconteciment?

    Thanks in advance!

    Ooh. Big topic.

Some old Acon batreps that might be relevant:

    http://infinitytheforums.com/forum/topic/49135-kublacon-2017-acontecimento-doing-work/

I'll dig into this tomorrow when I have more time, but I've used every unit you've listed in ITS with good results. Nagas and Regulars are in virtually every Acon list I play in some form. Bagh-Mari and the Tikbalang are staples of play. The others are solid and can fit well into a gameplan.

Are you mostly playing ITS missions?

Yeah, I usually playing ITS missions (even though I have not gone to any tournaments). And I will have to take a look at those, so thank you.

On a bit of a off-topic, how did you convert your Regulars? I like the look of them very much!

That looks like a solid collection to build towards.

Get at least two Nagas, you ARE going to use them.

There have been a few different versions of this particular brand of fun. It used to extend out to two groups, but that's silly in Season 9 ITS. I'd prefer a little more close support, but this version does work and keeps the TAGs ticking along pretty well.

@TanakoSkyler22: all the things you've mentioned are viable, and very much so.

Long story short SAA plays a bit like Nomads; they have better skill and less durability than your usual PanO army, compared to NCA they're more comfortable at medium range and in CQB, and between Nagas, Montesas and Peacemakers can field a strong forward detachment, supported by good, cheap AD. They also have better access to Auxbots than other sectorials, and are best PanO army when it comes to hacking. And all that without sacrificing firepower.

Both Core fireteams are good at slowing enemy down, making them good choices if you want to play hammer&anvil. Regulars are cheaper and well suited for TAG lists (Double TAG, Dragao&Tikbalang, is very fun to play), as well as hordes.

Drakios meshes very well with any units with Camo/ODD/Mimetism; he forces enemy MSV to either keep their heads down in the first turn or die.

Scylla is a core of any hacking-heavy build.

Nagas are utility pieces; three that I most often use are KHD, Monomines, or Minelayer. I really wish they were AVA 3.

TAGs and GdA are the heavy hitters, and work very well together. It's easy to force enemy to focus on a TAG and miss GdA threat, or push Tikbalang up the field, enter SF and make enemy waste time and orders to take it down, while ou can go about the objectives.

@AdmiralJCJF There is a issue with the first list with one of the Bagh Maris not having Haris, hence it will not for. You would need to drop the paramedic for the guy for half an SWC and one less point. Otherwise, these lists seem to be pretty solid.

I might try to run these (save that some of the Fugazis are going to be Mulebots since I do not have enough of the former).

@Stiopa Which loadout should I usually go for Scylla most of the time? Her Assault Hacking does seem nice, but with the prevalence of KHDs I feel that will benefit her more. Though both seem to be good options.

It depends on what opponents you expect. If you suspect you'll be facing some elite targets with high BTS, it's good to have AHD with Icebreaker, with KHD Naga providing protection against enemy hackers. If you don't plan to field the Naga and don't expect many HIs/TAGs Remotes, then KHD is a better choice. There's obviously no point in taking basic HD

And regardless of what you'll choose I heartily recommend getting Pathfinder+3xFugazi+EVO. If you used this set in NCA you'll know how useful it is between it's anti-Camo, ARO, and hacking coverage capabilities. In SAA it's even more useful, given that we have worse access to MSV2+ and Sensors than NCA.

Yeah, more Fugazis was a given for me since NCA also has AVA 3 of them. Do not have fully AVA yet but I do couple it with Pathfinder, which does great work for me.

    Great input so far.

    • Agreed with @Stiopa , I begin every list with 3 Fugazi and a Pathfinder. If I could program Army to include those units every time I open an Acon list, I'd do so.
    • Getting comfortable and fluid with how Nagas play is a really valuable cornerstone for any Acon player. They won't do everything for you, but a very reasonable goal for any ITS-oriented mission is to give your Nagas enough breathing room to work.
    • Agreed with Scylla too, she can play a fierce Assault Hacker game, though the KHD is a solid default choice and it's nice being able to Impersonate her and her REMs.

Looping back to your first question about converting Acon Regulars too:
I wasn't a fan of the existing Sapper Sniper pose, so I took her crouching legs and torso to have her holding her MULTI Sniper Rifle (Fusilier arms are helpful here, or else the Hexa Sniper.) I did some headswaps to give my SWC weapon choices closed-face helmets, but the Acon helmet has grown on me since then so I've since swapped them all back.

The Minelayer conversion I was really happy with... I started with the crouching legs once again, and molded the Naga minelayer's hand + antipersonnel mine so it looks like she's dropping a mine around a corner.

@barakiel Personally I do not mind the Regular MSR's pose, but it does seem like it is going to be fiddily as all hell. Speaking of conversion, would it be easy to modify Fusiliers a bit (and some greenstuff) to make them into regulars? Have my dear Fusilier sniper that more than likely is not going to be used to I was thinking of putting a mouth covering on her.

Yeah, converting the Regular Sapper Sniper was based purely on preference. Nothing wrong with her at all.

I definitely suggest getting the Regular minis themselves just because they're awesome... Their helmets really grew on me, and they look fantastic as a unified team on the table (even with my meager painting ability.) But there's nothing wrong with using actual Fusiliers, especially considering that Regulars are Fusiliers who simply ditched some of their armor and grabbed new kit that better suited their combat conditions.

Definitely. Since Infinity is a skirmish game, I do like the idea of having each model having some personality to them. That said, I do plan to pick up the starter for SAA in the future. As well, I might pick up the vanilla PanO starter again to use some of the models there as well (Orc as Gda, Converting Akali to have a BSG, Fusiliers as Regulars as mentioned and have the Nisse Sniper worked to be the Black Friar MSR for Vanilla PanO and NCA).

[IMG] If you need a Guarda conversion, look no further than your Icestorm ORC. Since he’s a “light HI”, only ARM3, I decided to go with the main HI body and helmet but less bulky arms and shoulder pads. Some spare Akali arms fit perfectly, and I added his HFT onto the Spitfire for the final touches.

Bonus, I used the spare ORC arms for my last Knight Hospitaller to give him a Multi Rifle for the ever useful MR+Doctor profile.

If you're picking up SAA anyway - Tik is love Tik is life.

Been though PanO Vanilla and all 3 Sectorials with SAA being the last on my list. Nothing comes close to the freedom that little TAG lets you feel. Before the Tik I'd have a hard time to decide in between Swiss ML and Magister Link as my favourites, they're now both a far behind in 2nd.

Dropping it on the table as Reserve piece behind a Mine screen makes it feel safe compared to the usual TAG. Starting a turn by simply walking/Climbing straight across the table, gunning down everything in your path has to be one of the most satisfying things you can do in Infinity.

So a bit of a update:

Did manage to get a game in tonight with SAA with using proxies for my army to test it out. Have to say they play very different from PanO but it still felt like I was playing the faction. That said, it was against Vanilla PanO which was a rough sailing (he was honestly expecting me to play my JSA), but I did manage to pull a win from my game.

Putting a Tikbalang, a Pathfinder and 3 Fugazi on the table looks amazing, and it's incredible in how it plays.

In my opinion it's one of the most iconic and useful PanO list-building modules out there, and I'm excited to discuss it more in that Acon tactica.
