First, I want to try some of the new Nadhir profiles, I choose the minelayer one.

Later, I had several issues while triying to build the fireteams, because we had lost many options, it isn't only the Asawira shooting too well, but others like the "barid" allowing then to be in fireteam but not providing bonuses as Ghulam, same for Avi and even the Muyibs. Too we had lost some interesting fireteams options (haris and duo). In the end and having in mind the missions parameters I choose to have only one fireteam, put Yasbir, is really good doing mines explode without risk.FO farzans will have the mission to push buttons and too, accomplish objectives, D-charges for the servers !! The farzan minelayer plus daylamis and nahdir will be the "defensive barrier". The Ghazi had two uses: be close to the "main server" and using the jammer to stop any attack, or running forward and block the "console" for the enemy specialist. The fireteam a five member fireteam should provide defense or attack as necessary.

    Playing...

My rival wanted "side", so I went first. I decided to deploy the "ghulam" core with only the two ghulams, so I made a "muyib" haris with the spitfire + Leila + Yarah (using Strategic Deployment).

All things went really well, almost as planned, but still I had several issues struggling with a table full of TAK camos. So I couldn't came close to the main server (the one in the center) in my second turn. Nadhir, both, did great work defensively.

The last turn, Leila, cibermasked was capable to reach one server and to destroy it, but not the "good one". I killed pretty much was my rival had in the center of the table in my last turn (I should do it in order to left a free path for Leila, because cibermask could stop all).

My third turn ended leaving my rival no chances to catch any of my servers. So we finish there.

The match was in general well balanced, we almost finished in a tie, only after my latest turn things went to my side of the balance. A couple of bad rolls and probably anything could go differently.

    Conclusions:

Hassasin is still playable. We had lost options, so we will have to be confident again in a few configurations and profiles, what it isn't the best thing, but in the end we have options and resources to fight and even to deal with a couple of bad rolls putting in motion another plan. This is a kind of thing Haquisslam has, too many multitools profiles.

    Best regards

I think the new fireteam rules are a blessing in disguise. It's true we can't just jam an Asawira into any 5-man core and laugh our way to the bank anymore but I remember when I first started playing HB before Asawira even had Wildcard and running the pure Muyib core. I always felt they were one of the best fireteams in HB and that was before they got a buff to BS, new even better profiles and the Bioimmunity change making them effective armor 3.

Especially relative to the new field, I think the new pure Muyib core has some amazing potential. I'm admittedly a bit biased towards them and haven't gotten a chance to play them in N4 or with the new fireteam rules but I'm dying to know if anyone's tried it and if it was to any success.

This past weekend I was finally able to play a game with the new fireteam rules. This was also my first game of N4 so there were lots of new things to learn and dabble with. I decided to introduce new list building elements slowly, I didn't want to diverge too much from my usual tactics and sensibilities since I still wanted a clear picture of how the newer rules and models play with HB's usual gameplan and my own style. My OP was playing White Company and the mission was Quadrant Control. Here's what I opted to bring:

    Quadrant Control
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    MUYIB (Tactical Awareness, X Visor) Spitfire, D-Charges ( ) / Pistol, CC Weapon. (1.5 | 34)
    MUYIB (Tactical Awareness, X Visor) Heavy Rocket Launcher, D-Charges ( ) / Pistol, CC Weapon. (1.5 | 25)
    MUYIB (Doctor [+3]) Rifle, Light Shotgun, Panzerfaust ( | MediKit) / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 27)
MUYIB (Minelayer) Rifle, Light Shotgun, Panzerfaust, E/M Mines / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 25)
LEILA SHARIF (Hacker) Shock Marksman Rifle, E/M Mines, D-Charges / Breaker Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 20)
ASAWIRA (Lieutenant) AP Spitfire, Nanopulser / Pistol, Shock CC Weapon. (1.5 | 39)
FARZAN (Chain of Command) Boarding Shotgun, Shock Mines / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 28)
FARZAN (Minelayer) Boarding Shotgun, Shock Mines / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 24)
FIDAY Rifle, Light Shotgun, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CC Weapon. (0 | 25)

    GROUP 2[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]2 [IMG]2 [IMG]1
GHULAM Rifle, Light Shotgun / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 11)
MUTTAWI'AH Boarding Shotgun, Jammer, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 10)

Admittedly, I recognize the Muyibs are a little ill-suited for this mission in particular but I was determined to try them out as they are a longtime favorite of mine and I was curious to see how the rules changes affected them.

Winning the Lt roll I chose to take sides and my OP chose to go first. My general plan was to just push points up both sides with the fireteam on my right flank and the Asawira and skirmishers on the left. My Ghazi was deployed a bit ahead of my Asawira to clear his path better and the Daylami and Nadhir were waiting in position to ambush and cause trouble when needed. Most of the battlefield was a space station in cramped corridors so ZOC AROs played a large role when it came to controlling space.

At the top of 1 I got some lucky rolls with my TR turret and actually killed a couple Fusiliers in my OP's core fireteam. This stymied my OP's advance on my right flank as they had to spend most of the other orders in that combat group trying to paramedic members back up. They spent the rest of their turn moving their Haris of Spitfire Jujak/Valerya/Shona up my left side but fell a bit short of threatening my Asawira due to running out of orders.

Most of my T1 was spent trying to make a large play with the Fiday. I suspected (correctly) my OP had chosen an ORC Lt so I spent several rounds in CC with it, failing to deal any wounds and actually lost a FtF eventually and she was squished indignantly under the gauntlet of an ORC :(

However I was still able to trade my Ghazi for his Jujak on the left flank and then was able to kill Shona with a surprise attack from the minelayer Farzan so we ended up tying for points Turn 1.

Turn 2 my OP just didn't have the orders left to breach my half of the table, made more difficult by the fact that I had the Daylami and Nadir both pop out of camo to make things even more difficult. I then just moved up the fireteam to score my close zone, and my Asawira up into his close zone to score 3/4 and he was unable to change the situation on his last turn, making my last turn irrelevant. My big takeaways are as follows:

    1. I actually quite like the new "super Ghazi". I was crestfallen much like everyone else when the profiles changed to be more balanced but even though we can't spam them anymore, the BSG Jammer profile really impressed me. Being able to drop 2 damage 14 templates significantly increases their trading potential and is way deadlier than just a chain rifle.

    2. The Muyibs I didn't get a great feel for as their long range guns never came up. They almost exclusively did all their firefighting with shotguns in tight hallways so I don't feel like it was an adequate test for them since they were bound to excel in that scenario no matter what.

    3. The Nadhir is great. It delivers exactly what it promises which is a terrifying ARO that your OP needs to constantly respect. I was really excited when we essentially got our own Noctifer and it did not disappoint.

    4. I simply can't cheap out on the Fiday profile. Losing in CC to the ORC was pretty embarrassing and while it was partially due to dice, it was a good lesson in the importance of the DA CCW which is a mistake I won't be making in the future.

Funnily enough as excited as I was to try the new fireteam rules, my MVPs ended up being my Ghazi and skirmishers. Some things never change right?

Great write up. It got straight to the point stating the ups and downs. Some write ups go too far into detail to the point I just jump to the conclusion.

If you get another game in anytime soon I would like to hear some action with Ragiks. I think they are a great unit that doesn’t see much playtime, because “everything is awesome.” lol But, they open a whole new vector of attack that can stifle your opponent’s deployment.

    Thank you!

The Ragik is in an interesting place right now I think. In all honesty it's a troop that I somewhat looked down on in N3 but the current edition has been very kind to it I think. The non-specialist profiles seemed a little out of place to me since we have an abundance of skirmishers and the Fiday to pressure our opponents DZ and at BS 12 with no visual mods it's not an outstanding gunfighter in it's own right. However I think I'll try the BSG profile at least once next chance I get. Thanks to dogged that's an awful lot of potential templates up in your OP's face and I bet you could do some mean trading up.

The hacker is also more relevant than it's ever been. HB sort of had the luxury in N3 of being able to largely ignore infowar but pretty much no one can say that now so I'm expecting to be taking at least 1 Barid per list going forward and the Ragik remains the only hacker that can deploy out of our DZ so I'll be trying that at least once as well.

I wish the Ragik had a bit more going for it, but WIP15 is nothing to sneeze at. They definitely directly compete with the Fiday and Farzan, trading the flexibility of entry for not contributing the order from the start. Your experience with the Nadhir is similar to mine. I don't see myself fielding Shujae by comparison. 'Pure' Muyib team is still a wonder without Asawira, but duo Asawira with Leila or Yara seems a good way to deliver a specialist or MSV2 to the thick of things, respectively. Still, Asawira and Muyibs doesn't lose you too much.
