I asked this in the previous forums but can't find the answer. A unit with Gsync and it's buddies (eg Symbiobeast) in their active turn gets into b2b with a unit with Martial Arts Lvl5. My understanding of how it resolves is that the unit with MA5 needs to declare their ARO first which means it needs to select a model to ARO against. If it decides to MA5 the Gsync unit can declare to use CC with another model meaning that the MA5 effectively becomes B0. Just wanting to confirm this.
This situation is not handled by the rules. Of note is that a model that doesn't declare CC Attack does not have any burst value, effectively Martial Arts 5 doesn't work at all. (Basically, Martial Arts 5 has a hidden requirement in reactive turn that you're targetted by an attack)
Hmm.... this seems remarkably familiar. :P http://infinitytheforums.com/forum/topic/48379-ma4-aro-vs-gsynclink-team/
Yeah. I remember asking that for MA4 with telationto splitting burst in aro though ma5 would be different as it matches burst in reactive. I asked again with relation to dodge which would make me believe that ma5s burst would become 0 or the same burst just having the option for normal rolls but that's me possibly conflating things together. http://infinitytheforums.com/forum/topic/49056-ma5-vs-dodge/
Tl;dr you can't split burst in ARO, if you MA5 someone who doesn't have any burst you get B=0. Therefore, don't MA5 vs 2 G-Sync troops in B2B because you won't do anything.
