So I've got an escalation tournament in Jan. I've got a Gorgos and I'm probably going to use it.. because when else?

    400pts, Quadrant Control.

    Terrible list is terrible?

Not a terrible list but definitely playable.

Only thing missing would be some Kaauri with nullifiers. You'll want atleast one to support the Gorgos. Switch a Chaksa bot to Kaauri SMG perhaps?

My other thought would be the way you structure the Triads. I see two offensive triads, Gorgos and Rasail LT all of which are aggressive and in the same combat group. You also have a defensive triad in group 2 which I do get but you could switch one into group one and have two solid ARO pieces standing up covering fire lanes increasing the orders your opponent needs to weaken the burst bonus. Defensive triads can still move to contest quadrants but I feel that your strike pieces are the ones you want to be using orders on and at the moment it looks a bit bunched.

I really love the Sukeul HMG, Sukeul FO and Makaul triad. Extremely deadly triad capable of taking on infantry/armour. I would consider this as a aggressive triad if needed (I'd still be pushing the Gorgos every order possible). Switching the ML, Kaeltar and Makaul to the other Triad and moving the other Kaeltar into 2nd combat group will maintain the specialist in each triad but also give you a bit more synergy and purpose for each order pool I feel.

That's actually fair, I could trade one of the offensive Triads and the Rasail to the other pool. The Sukeul HMG link usually eats the most orders.

Why Kaauri for the Gorgos? Spotting stuff for it? I have a painted one, so sure.

I think the idea is to get Nullifiers into the list so the Gorgos has a Hacking-safe area to retreat to. The Kaurii can bring a Nullifier to your list for very cheap.

Actually, yeah. Nullifier makes a huge amount of sense. Everyone is going to be bringing crap to shut down TAGs.

That said, I haven't played with my Gorgos yet. But every time I read a rule interaction involving it, it is never in its favour.

What do you guys think about the Gorgos?

At 400pts, would you play it, or would you just bring more dudes/things to kill TAGs?

Well, an AP Spitfire is actually a pretty good weapon for a TAG. With Eclipse Smoke readily available to Tohaa, you can advance wherever necessary, shrug off mine/direct templates that would bother most light opposition, and beat up on most anti-armor weapons from inside their effective range. The Chaksa's got some great tools, isn't hugely susceptible to Hacking, and can force some difficult decisions for any opponent. Mates and Bombs provide a deeper layer of flexibility too.

So although the Gorgos has some flaw, it's a pretty scary thing for an opponent to face if they see it stomping around in their half of the table. Your typical MULTI HMG TAG is a pretty easy threat to assess, but the Gorgos is such a big bucket of different threats. It can cause problems with a lot of different armament.

    So retool. It's Quadrant Control.

    Group 1 (10)
    (1) Sukeul: HMG, D Charges.
    (1) Kaeltar, 2 Symbiomates, Light Shotgun, Flash Pulse.
    (1) Makaul HFT, VCC.
    Gorgos: AP Spitfire, Flammenspear, Pulzar.
    - Chaksa: Pulzar.
    (2) Sukeul: Missile Launcher, Light Shotgun.
    (2) Kamael: Sniper Rifle.
    (2) Gao Rael: Sniper Rifle
    Chaksa: HFT, Baggage, Sensor.
    Chaksa: HFT, Baggage, Sensor.
Kosuil: K1 Combi Rifle, D-Charges, Nullifier.

    Group 2 (5)
    Rasail: LT, Viral Combi Rifle
    - Chaksa: HFT.
    (3) Sukeul: K1 Combi Rifle, Forward Observer, D-Charges.
    (3) Makaul: HFT, VCCW.
    (3) Kaeltar, 2 Symbiomates, Light Shotgun, Flash Pulse.
    Kamael: Combi Rifle.

    400/7.5 SWC.

Added the Kosuil because I needed a Nullifier and an Engineer who can remove conditions from the Gorgos.

Kind of want to shoehorn in a Kotail with EM Grenades or put the Clipsos back in.

The AP Spitty & Flammenspeer are a really nice combo, used my Gorgos* last night and it really impressed me.

*Proxied my Avatar, that has a Gorgos on it...
