While this was dropped a while ago, I did not see anyone talking about it. A Neurocinetics PS 4 Autocannon that can be in Sapper State and has two Structure with Remote Presence seems like it will be a fun unit. The AP Sniper would also make a good disposable ARO unit for relatively cheap. What are your thoughts?
Really depends on what support you are willing to dedicate to this thing. Do you risk an engineer to bring it back when it will go down? Do you bring the engineer at all? Dozer? Or Volkolak controlller? EVO Wardriver? If the answer is yes to both then bs 12 neurokinetics on a portable autocannon or LRL, with Sapper and Marksmanship is nasty. It is pretty much TRbot, or as close to a propper TRbot as Ariadna will ever get, probably. It can be a nice aro piece, but I do not like the active turn one one bit. Sadly, in vacuum, it is extremely difficult to judge this piece, not knowing, what will Ariadna get and what are the list construction rules? A lot of people hope for relaxed 20 troopers again. We shall see.
I think it'll have a good role myself, there's likely to be a drop off in good aro pieces with the changes to link teams and burst reductions across the board, so having a strong aro threat is going to be very useful in what might be a very alpha-heavy environment
Yep. And TAK and Vanilla Ariadna have no shortage of engineers. I didn't even think about an EVO Wardriver. One SWC is pricey, but a mimetism piece hitting on 15s might be worth it. But only for the AP Sniper, because a combined 2.5 SWC seems like too much of a commitment.
Why though? I do not play TAK, but in USARF, unless I spam heavy weapons, I usually have at lesat 1.5 swc left over. And even when I spam them, like taking a trio of Blackjacks together with four 0.5 swc Grunts, I run out of points faster than SWC. Do TAK have that heavy of a swc cost to their troops, which are taken on a regular and are considered staples?
Short answer:Yes. Long answer: A lot of the 'play piece' units in TAK come at a premium, and have SWC associated as well. Spetnaz, Veterans, that sort of stuff.
