I posted in the Pano forums regarding to "who to use for xenotech escorting" and an interesting debate came up. Under the Sync Civilian rules in the wiki it states that noone with G:Sync or G:Servant can declare this action. But the Xenotech starts in CivEvaq state with somebody. Does that mean anyone can escort him?
Well, you know, technically having a G:Synch or G:Servant is not a cancellation clause of the CivEvac state. And you’re right that having a G:Synch or G:Servant prevents a model from declaring Synchronize Civilian, but you aren’t declaring the skill. I also can’t find anything that says you can’t have a state if you are not able to declare the skill that grants the state. It looks legit to me RAW, but strikes me as not the intent.
To copy the answer here as well: Auxilia don't have the G: Synchronized Skill, so can start the game with a Xenotech synched to them. The Auxilia's Auxbot, on the other hand, has the G: Synch Skill (apart from being a Remote), so you can't daisy-chain a Xenotech synched to an Auxbot synched to an Auxilia. Note that for Xenotechs, it's not the Cancellation clauses of the CivEvac state that prevent this, but the Xenotech rules, in the second bullet point: During the Deployment Phase, the Xenotech will be deployed in the CivEvac state, Synchronized with a trooper that meets the requirements to declare the Synchronize Civilian Skill. And the Requirements for Synchronize Civilian include: A model cannot declare this Common Skill if any of the following is true: ... ... It possesses the G: Servant or G: Synchronized Special Skill. ...
No! as IJW said, the Requirements for Synchronize Civilian include: A model cannot declare this Common Skill if any of the following is true: ... ... ... ... It is performing a Coordinated Order, or it belongs to any kind of Fireteam.
