So, I'm taking the plunge and playing in my first tourney.

Looks to be about 20 folks.

The missions are Power Pack, Hunting Party, and Tic Tac Toe. I've played two of them, and that seems to be fine.

My biggest fear, or concern...the clock. What are tips to keep my turns short and decisive? What are some ways to speed up my play?

Maybe the first time on the clock is just one big cluster, and I should rely on the Vets to just kinda guide me thru it?

One of the most important thing is: Know the Mission and know your Army. If you dont need to look up the profiles and/or the mission objectives every time when decide what to do you will safe a lot of time.

Have fun and good luck for your first tourney.

I advise you to play a couple games (if possible) a few days before the tournament. Play all three missions. This will give you a better understanding of the objectives and you will spare some time because you will not have to figure out how to win during the game.
At the beginning of your opponent's turn (order count and thinking phase - before he declares any action) try to figure out what will be his moves and what should your AROs be.
And obviously read your own list a lot before the tournament. Being familiar with what your troopers can (and cannot) do speeds up the gameplay.
