Louie lands. Places template. Template only touches Nero the Zero who is in marker state. Template is cancelled due to no legal targets. Nero the Zero shoots Louie in ARO. Nero rolls unopposed. Correct? Or does the cancellation happen at resolution when it is found to be an illegal skill declaration?
Not sure, IMO: Louie Lands.(Entire order Skill) Defined the final location Nero the Zero ARO (or not) Then Places template Template is cancelled if Zero stay in marker state/Template is ok if Zero take a shoot Because "This Level of the Special Skill Explode only can be applied after placing the model on the battlefield, after deploying it with AD: Combat Jump" so after the order's resolution phase
Sorry, but this is a misunderstanding of Combat Jump, albeit a fairly common one. The actual sequence is: Declare AD: Combat Jump and the desired location. 'First' ARO step, Hackers that have the right Program can declare Hack Transport Aircraft. Make the PH Roll for Combat Jump (as a Face to Face if there are any Hack Transport Aircraft AROs). Determine actual landing position of the AD trooper, and place the template for Explode X. 'Second' ARO step, AROs are now generated for everyone else, based on the trooper's actual landing location.
Well why not, so the ennemis can ARO the template except the hacker who will try his luck with Hack Transport Aircraft Considering all of this simultaneous, their "dodge" with or without PH-3? For sure all ARO are unopposed EDIT : I think this writing would have been clearer : "This Level of the Special Skill Explode only can be applied after placing the model on the battlefield, while you deploying it with AD: Combat Jump"
The template won't impose any MODs to Dodge itself, unless the Liu Xing is outside the trooper's LoF.
If you are asking "Can a model with Hack Aerotransport declare/execute ANY ARO besides Hacking Aerotransport against an AD-Trooper rolling PH to be deployed in the table?"... RAW, following the sequence IJW has written (which is, as far as I know, the pure RAW correct and endorsed by CB), then no. The hacker is forced to use Hack Aerotransport, or lose the ARO.
The the following example would be like this? 1.) Lui declares AD: Combat Jump behind a linkteam of 5, threatening 3 of them with his template. 2.) There is no hacker, because russions hate this stuff. 3.) The PH roll is successful. 4.) Lui lands on the position described in 1.). 5.) Thanks to Sixth Sense L2, all 5 members of the linkteam get two free shots at Lui while three of them must tank the DAM12 explosion? My assumtion would be that they get an ARO with SSL2, because Explode LX is marked as an attack, am I correct? For ease of example, please assume all 5 members managed to have a LoF after SSL2 triggered.
To be "absolutely" correct, SSL2 does not allow to answer because explode LX does not need to roll dices and SSL2 says: "SIXTH SENSE LEVEL 2 AUTOMATIC SKILL Optional. REQUIREMENTS In order to use Sixth Sense L2, the user must be the target of an Attack. OK EFFECTS Allows the user to respond with a Face to Face Roll to Attacks (and only Attacks) directed at him by an enemy outside his LoF and regardless the facing of the user. The rule don't allows the user to respond if they is no Roll […]" Any other interpretation would of course be a personal extrapolation that would have no value in the context of an official tournament
although if the hacker does succeed his WIP roll (in a FTF) then he won't take any damage. so.... about the same as a FTF dodge (in the case of spec fire grenade where you do a FTF dodge). Of course, the bigger impact is where doing a FTF WIP puts you out of the fireteam while the other fireteam member are doing their Dodges. Assuming multiple member were clipped...
The "Death by luck" sequence: Nominate a spot 16" from the hacker, where it can't see the dropping troop The hacker wins the FTF roll, so the model scatters Get lucky and scatter onto the hacker Now the hacker doesn't get a Dodge vs. the explosion Disclaimer: Petition to bring back AD:Explode TAGs.
It does. SS is understood to allow you to respond to attacks from out of LOF with a DTW not just with BS Attacks' that will cause a FTF.
That's what I thought. The bold text in Shangos post seemed to imply otherwise and was confirmed by IJW
