Can a piece of equipment (such as a mine or deployable repeater) gain partial cover? The rules for Cover on the wiki refer both to 'troopers' and 'targets of the attack'.

The rules for BS Attack state that "The user employs his BS Attribute (or that specified by the weapon) to fire upon one or more enemies". So if you really want to go down that rabbit hole....

    Otherwise: yes, they do.

I do not want to go down that rabbit hole. :P

I was pretty certain they did but had an opponent today who was equally sure they didn't. Wasn't an issue in the end, the modifier didn't swing any rolls.

I do think that even if you go down the rabbit hole you'll come to the same conclusion. A requirement to be a deployable equipment is to have a troop profile and be able to be the target of an attack - incidentally what's written in Cover as well.

(However, one does not simply rabbit hole into Mordor, so I do note that a theoretical deployable weapon which executes a BS Attack will not be affected by the -3 MOD to hit since it's not a trooper, but that theoretical weapon doesn't exist (yet))
