I've been starting to paint again and thought I might share with folks here. Currently I'm mostly working on Druze Bayram Security models. I've been going pretty slow, but I'm putting a lot of work into individual models and I've been really happy with my results. Please let me know what you think of them! I'll be adding things to a flickr album as I complete them and take good pictures.
I took some pictures of the second pair I did; I've painted the entire new Druze box at this point. I'm currently working on the Brawler from Uprising.
That yellow looks really good. Maybe the OSL is too intense, try to thin the paint to smooth the effect.
Thanks! I'm currently using the Citadel paint line. Base coat Averland Sunset Wash Seraphim Sepia Large highlight with Averland Sunset Edge highlight with Dorn Yellow
I have a very long history of having issues with glow effects. I agree that these came out a bit too stark; I'll continue trying to tune it as I go.
These are really smart mate, well done. Nice strong colour choices, what yellows and browns are they?
Thanks! I posted the yellow recipe above; the brown is Base Dryad Bark Wash Agrax Earthshade Highlight Gorthor Brown Edge highlight Baneblade Brown
Quite a while ago I painted up a Brawler as well and never took "good" pictures to post here. I made the jacket the same red as the Druze's armor vest, which I was never entirely happy with. For one, it's a different material, so it should look different, and for another, it made the models look a little too similar from a couple feet away, and it was too easy to mix them up on the table. I have another limited Brawler from a trade I did ages ago, so I painted it up with a more red leather sort of color, and I'm quite happy with it. Druze KHD preorder mini wrapped up! The lightbox fails to capture the colorshift effect on her sunglasses (Miami Sunset from Turbo Dork) so you get a bonus pic shot on my windowsill.
