So, when a model uses the ED: Ejection rule do they benefit from the changes in ITS X with Landing Assist? Can they be placed anywhere within 16" of the TAG they ejected from, or do they still need to place a template and then be placed within that template?

They don't actually have the AD: Combat Jump rule, they are placed using the restrictions of Combat Jump, which Landing Assistance doesn't actually change unless you possess the Combat Jump rule.

    Thoughts?

You don't have the AD: Combat Jump rule, so you have to place the template.
