I'm a pretty new player, maybe got a dozen games of Vanilla Ariadna under my belt. I've been trying to learn the faction, the models in it, while at the same time getting faster w/my play. That's why my list is only LI and may have some weird combinations in it.

I finally took a list with Dog Faces. Well, one Dog Face.

That guy performed pretty well, and after transformation, ran the gamut to get the beacon in Capture and Protect. He forced my opponent to not use his AD, well him and Duroc, and really put stress on my opponent on my final turn. I lost the game, but it would have been close.

Is this just a fluke for this piece, or is it really good, and I've been missing out?

Dog are pretty awesome. They are kind of like mini TAGs that are cheap.

Smoke and high PH means they will get it off and DF has essentially 3 wounds with total immune. Often times they are very hard to stop and then you are forced to take two direct templates to the face. Played right they can wreck shop. Their CC abilities are very solid so they can bully strong unts with low CC (like tags or hi) while having the wounds to not care about a loss of one. All for 27 points.

The cameronian sacrifices a wound for being even cheaper. Still a good deal and benefits more from taking two. I kind of like them the best since you don't have to worry about the weaker human form.

The Devil Dog is a little wonky and probably over priced, but he is still a dog the same things apply. He can be hard to stop and in the right spot can do a lot of damage. One is usually enough here.

Two dogs is still pretty viable, ariadna has a lot of cheap options so even losing one isn't game over. Moreover they are just fun to use as a change of pace from standard ariadna stuff.

Werewolves in general are great at what they do, and what they do is throw smoke and kill things.

In my opinion they work best in Caledonia where you can feed them a bunch of 6 point orders, but they certainly have their place in the more killy missions.

    Yep, Doggos are great.

I like to throw some behind or to the side with the Impetuous order, it lets you drop the smoke as a normal roll to protect specialists or other Impetuous troopers and if the enemy AROs you get the wolf form and it's higher stats!

Picking up dog warriors has been a treat... and not just to paint them.

I've been on the fence between them and the assault pack. On one hand, the assault pack rarely under performs. Get them to whatever you can/want to murder, and worst case you get a reasonably priced smoke grenade launcher.

Dog warriors are there to scare your opponent, while people call them mini tags they don't exactly serve the one man army role. You get a lot of wounds for their price, and two chain rifles does tend to scream "don't let me get close, deal with me or else." In my experience it's not going to rampage across the table taking all comers, but it's only 27 points. If you're willing to sacrifice the regular order for an irregular very impetuous nutcase, he can usually be a wonderful distraction price that is extremely disruptive, and extremely mobile. Watch him get into a field of cheerleaders and watch the beautiful mess.

I think Duroc is one of the better dogwarriors, but yes, you have been missing out.

Dogwarriors throw smoke and kill things, tank missile launcher hits, and otherwise take way too much killing. There's a reason that the mercenary character is usually called McMurder on the forums.

Don't forget that they can spec fire grenades on 13s, (after MODs if within 8") - which makes catching bunched up models behind cover even more reliable, (especially for those on suppression fire). Plus, their speed, toughness & aggressiveness means they're more likely to get within that ideal range.
