So quick question regarding fireteams and dodging, as the title implies. Say I have a five man link team hanging around a corner waiting for something to come their way. A poor, heroic auxbot comes around said corner and drops his good ol' template on the lot of them. There is a unit right in front of the auxbot within Engage distance, and the rest of the fireteam is too far to engage. Would the closest member to the auxbot be able to engage without dropping fireteam? Essentially I'm trying to figure out if Dodge, Engage, Change Face are all considered dodges since they're all dodge rolls allowing a fireteam to perform different dodges as they could with different BS attacks. The answer wouldn't be that they all engage and simply perform a dodge even though they're too far since if you're too far you perform an idle maneuver instead, turning you into toast.
No. Engage and Dodge (and Change Facing) are separate skills, even though they all roll on the same stat and perform similar functions (as far as incoming attacks are concerned).
I'm sure there's nothing wrong with @Sabin76 answer, but I note that Engage does specify If the Roll is successful, then the user Dodges all Attacks against him and moves into base to base contact with his target at the final location previously declared. http://infinitythewiki.com/en/Engage which wording might have misled you somewhat, @Socretez?
