    Hello fellow humans,

It's been a few years now. How often do you use the total reaction versions of the Kameel, Probot, Mulbot, Yaopu or Salyut?

I think I already know the answer.

I've never used it, but I haven't had the piece available until recently. A cheap TR bot seems like a good deal, IMHO.

Often. Very underrated unit. Great for the (many) missions which score based on zones. 41 net points is more than many Heavy Infantry. A TR baggage bot can be hackbuffed to BS14, and can defend itself more reliably than 90% of light and medium infantry at the same price point.

    And it's easy to repair!

Lacking in ownership I haven't used one yet but I always find myself wanting one. If I had one in my All-Comers list it would be a very useful order for all of those lazy, "lets just to Quadrant Control" games.

I also play a decent amount of disposable weapons in Nomads. My combo rifle Gecko loses a lot of ARO threat after it's two Panzerfaust shots are expended.

¡jamás ! Minesweepers FTW! and cheap regular orders :) I don't bother with the EVOs either. I do dislike much the hacking game. Many hacking programs. Wow. So nonsensical in a game about shooting. Such tedium sorting through all of them. Wow. Very silly.

I think they're good in Firefight for watching your backside. Or in a Van Zant-heavy meta.

    ives used one twice.

Once I misdeployed it and it sucked, the second rime it actually was a bit of a nightmare for my opponent to deal with.

    No

I would if I played CA and could take their EVO Drone, with it's combi rifle and Exile program. In fact, I'd take that in pretty much every list.

I took them occasionally back in N2 when their abilities were hard to mimic. The new suppression fire can make nearly anyone a passable TR baggage subsitute (passable not quite as good). You lose our the ability to buff with assisted fire (at an additional order cost), but you can put 4 dudes into this role with an order and a command token.

For the most part I tend to fill corner guarding and d zone defense with cheap chain rifles these days, and fill in as needed with suppression fire.

TR HMG bots got a significant cost decrease and can fill lots of roles with 360 visor, assisted fire and good ranges. They can play offense and defense well at a pretty inexpensive cost. I feel like most of the other human TRish units (baggage and sin eaters) faired poorly in the edition change. Their unique abilities can be fairly closely mimiced by units that are powerful on offense and adequate on defense, whereas they guys are still relatively expensive, and fulfill pretty limited roles, IMO.

I recently played a Limited Insertion 0 SWC game. Not even there it was used by me or my counterpart (he did try to disguise the Holo2 YJ S4 remote, the Lu Duan I think, as 2 baggage total reaction bots... didn't fly since, after discussing it in here, it was concluded that you need to deploy both holos and the original troop...).

I mean, I prefer to pay a little more and get a real total reaction bot... But when it comes to CA I almost always deploy Ikadrons.

Occasionally. Once my Salyut holds a flank of my deployment zone clear of nasty ariadnan paratroopers. In zone-control-missions the TR Baggage is a useful peace, but in most cases of listbuilding sooner or later you replace it with the 8 pts. version because you need the points for something other. The CA version is something completly different, because a 9 pts double flamer with pistols and flashpulse and BTS 6 is a bargain.

Kameel, in my case, and I never use it. So much so I only painted the Evo one and the other is still primed, unpainted and gathering dust on top of my desk, forever reminding me I never use them.

When I play USAriadna an armed Mul is mandatory for me to turn the Foxtrot FO button pusher into an actual threat on the battle field.

For Arianda Vanilla and for CHA I usually pick one for specialist heavy missions but they are not as important as they are for USAriadna.

The Ikadron is basically an autoinclude for CA as others have mentioned.

I absolutely see no reason to pick the generic Mulebot, Kameel, Salyut and Pangguling though. If you want or need a TR unit pick a real TR drone like the Sierra and not one of these inferior stopgap solutions.

the Salyut Zond with TR combi rifle is quite good. You can use him for guarding duties, for example.

I have always struggled with the Uragan, but still use that remote. I don't use the unarmed mulbot no longer because i can't take off the rocket launchers on mine anymore.

I try to use my Salyut Combi TR bot a lot recently, and as expected (my own expectation), it does not perform quite well. As other said, in zone control, they sometime work, or sometime you don't even need to move him up. they are good guarding the flank and you can buff them easily (as they have their own Repeater).

the traktors are surely a special case. they have different weapons for one thing to the basic loadout on the tr baggage units in every other faction
