Say a TAG drives into a zone, then the pilot dismounts and enters another zone. Which one does the points for the TAG count for? Likewise can a TAG pilot enter an objective room to claim it, either for "army points in a zone" or securing a zone ("only player to have troopers in the zone") Cheers
TAG Pilots don't have a points cost and are 'just' a secondary profile. The TAG is the actual trooper, which is why it's the one that generates Orders. So the only way they could Dominate a zone by point cost would be if you used a Classified as an Intelcom Card to add points to that zone. They'd count for Controlling an objective by being in base contact with it, because that's not based on points costs.
Does this change if the TAG is Dead or Unconscious (Null state) while the Pilot is dismounted? (Since the 1.5 or 1.4 FAQ changed it so the Pilot doesn't die when the TAG does if dismounted)
Q: What happens if a Pilot has Dismounted from a Manned TAG and the Pilot or TAG enters Dead State? A: If the Pilot is Dead, the TAG also enters Dead state and is removed from the game table. If the TAG is Dead, the Pilot stays on the table until he enters Dead state. I can't see anything there that would change it.
Never thought about this! So, even though the pilot has an effective point value of 0, it counts for being in the zone in order to use the intelcom card while your TAG is off dominating another zone. Is this right?
Death (Killed) is not in the cancellation clauses for Unconscious. And losing STR to get to Killed triggered Unconscious. That’s where that argument ends, if it’s starting with “They forgot to errata Pilot to include the other null states...”
Basically, since the trooper is no longer necessarily dead when the TAG is gone, it raises the question about what happens to the points for purposes of controlling zones and victory points.
See solkan's post. Nothing has changed about points costs etc. for Pilots, it's just that the English and Spanish wording for which one gets removed when the other dies has been aligned. So these still count: The Pilot of an Unconscious Vehicle or TAG generates no Orders for himself or for his Order Pool. The Pilot of an Unconscious Vehicle or TAG is not considered either as a survivor or a casualty for Victory Points, Retreat! or any other purposes. Although that does mean that my earlier post about Intelcoms was wrong, as the Pilot doesn't count at all. EDIT - unless the TAG was Conscious.
