Can you ignore the -3 MOD of partial cover if you have Marksmanship L2 while discovering someone?

    Discover
    - This WIP Roll is modified by the same MODs that affect BS Attacks (Cover, Range, Camouflage, TO Camouflage, ODD, Impersonation...).

    Marksmanship L2
    - The user may only benefit from this Special Skill when he declares a BS Attack.

Discover is no BS Attack, but is modified by the same MODS that affects BS Attacks. I'm confused. :anguished:

MM2 only works on BS Attacks AND only works on attacks that use BS.

Discover is not a BS attack and does not use BS.

FWIW MM2 also doesn't work with Flash Pulse or Grenades, as even though they are BS Attacks they don't use BS.

That's not how Technical or Thrown Weapon works.

You also basically said Cover doesn't apply a MOD to Discover or Technical Weapons...

Ugh, I am getting it confused with Fatality again.

Still doesn't work with Discover, right?

Both MM1 and MM2 has the exact wording.
The user may only benefit from this Special Skill when he declares a BS Attack.

There is no way someone who suffer from a Discover movement skill gets to apply the Shock effect (which asks to do a ARM roll, which is in addition to any BTS roll you were making or to the no roll you were making). And Discover is not in the Throwing Weapon, Technical Weapon, and Non-Lethal exception list.

edit - nevermind. MM1 effect use BS Weapon (which Discover isn't) and MM2 doesn't use anything in the effect, so rely on Req line which includes all BS Attacks. While we know not everything in the weapon chart are weapon, i'm not sure that the Discover movement skill is or isn't factually a BS Attack. Other skills (like FO) has the BS Attack trait, this one doesn't.

That would seem pretty definitive to me.

Discover is not a BS Attack. The rules are unequivocal on that.

FO is a BS Attack, is a Technical Weapon and is not a BS Weapon. As per the recent FAQ.

Flash Pulse is a BS Attack, a Technical Weapon and a BS Weapon (as per the rules in FO).
