Hello everyone! It is a question that arose after one of my games in campaign, during which I had a pleasure of speculating grenades into armory. Doors to the room were wide open and what happened, involved my Cameronian, bouncing the grenade off the door frame in order to remove suppression from enemies inside, placed on the other side of the wall We agreed that room was not sealed and we had a trajectory to the spot as matter of rule of the cool. Is room sealed when it has no way into it, or is the room sealed when it has a roof?
Roughly speaking; when there is no point A outside the room that can draw line of fire to any point B inside the room.
You can use the Lockpick program to open a single door, or blow one of the doors open. If you simply activate a door, all open at once. As for bouncing grenades... same with dropping them through holes, in the end there are no rules for that (you could throw the grenade so the template catches the target, however, in the especulative fire situations).
Could your Father Knight use his demolition charges to blow a hole in the side of the building that your opponent isn't covering. ... which is to say mine once did, but I dunno if it was legal
Doors? Doors are for those without faith, and those who do not understand that the resurrection of Jean D'Arc is a Sign from the Almighty! (It says here in my Manual for Delusional Religious Maniacs ) There were bad guys on the other side guarding the entrance; its a while ago now, but I remember also claiming the Highly Classified at the same time : simile:
Sabotage? You couldn't have. Exploding the D-charges to get sabotage doesn't damage buildings. And the Armoury isn't a legal target of that classified. (It's not entirely over the half way).
The advantage of D-Charging your way through a building instead of using the door is that the entrance left by a D-Charge still blocks Line of Fire, as opposed to an open doorway.
Yeah, but ARM10 Str3 is a lot for even D-charges to chew through. Particularly since you need to do 4 Dam to Destroy it. On topic: holes blown in the side of buildings block LOF but are generally considered to count as open. So you can Spec Fire grenades through them.
Sure, but at the time those petty legal objections were overcome by the resolute determination and steadfast faith of my Father Knight; not to mention the shared ignorance of both players! @macfergusson & @inane.imp this is very interesting and I'll bet I'm not the only one who didn't know this effect on LoF; can we get some references to the appropriate rules or rulings, please?
Destroyed State. "Effects If the Scenery Item or the piece of Equipment was represented by a Marker, simply remove it from play. If it was a physical piece of scenery, place a Destroyed Marker (DESTROYED) beside it. If it was a Construction Scenery Item (Wall, Partition...) on its own or as part of a Scenery Building, place a Narrow Gate Marker (NARROW GATE) on the point of impact. LoF can never be drawn through Narrow Access points created by the Destroyed state."
