Defiance! Why?

Why not? Several people bought into it, so it's going to be discussed. The promoting part is probably just there to keep people up to date, since production has been heavily delayed and people are eager for news.

 

Because many backers asked for a more detailed unboxing of the upcoming expansions.

 

I see no harm in them releasing unboxing videos on Kickstarter projects. If anything I think it would encourage others to join future kickstarters by showing off the contents of the current ones.

 

Not only you cannot buy it, CB has 0 interest in expanding Defiance any further after KS boxes finally get shipped. Which is disappointing, I really like the game engine and would gladly buy new equipment decks/characters/mission packs if they would keep making them.
I think they shot more detailed unboxings to fill KS updates with more content since there's still no solid info about the ship leaving China for Europe (and hasn't been since February).

 

From yesterday's update:

Let's talk about Wave 2 first. We’ve received some news from China about the expansions! The ship departing to the US is scheduled for this week, while the departure to Corvus Belli (Spain), and Australia will take place in the coming weeks. So, if we add the transportation time to the equation, we can estimate that we will be shipping the Wave 2 around mid-July. This means that by the end of July you should already be enjoying Infinity Defiance in your homes.


We know that we had estimated June as the delivery date, but the chaotic situation in China has made it very difficult for us to get space on the boats. We apologize for that.

 

Still don't see it as a solid info.

will take place in the coming weeks (i.e. more than one week) - then a few more weeks in transit (hopefully no ship gets stuck again) - then a few more weeks while CB is sorting/sending stuff. So about mid-August some of us will finally get their boxes. And the wait was sooo long that it's almost unbearable...

And then I just open my book and see all these misprints. And there will be no second print -_-

 

Dude, i work in logistics. That's as solid as it gets. Nothing is for sure until you have product in hand. Then you start complaining about misprints before it even ships. Methinks you are complaining to complain.

 

Well, actually, I DO have the base version on hands. And It really has problems, like some aspects of gameplay not mentioned at all. Or blocks of spanish text here and there. And there was no FAQ update since March and that subforum seems dead. But yeah, I guess I'm kinda complaining to complain at this point.

 

Dude, the game is so rife with misprints that the subforum is practically only news about shipping delays AND people trying to make head or tails of the rules. And the Wave 2 is going to be a full year late at this point.

 

The "drinking tears" meme is overused... once they figure a more unique replacement, they will add the warning.

 

@Arkangel I'm sure you can still find a way to get one. Even my local store suddenly has some spare ones and some people who ordered before not so eager anymore after getting their shipping price. Try asking around in your local gaming communities/stores.
And I have an impression that a lot of people backed it just as a "pack of miniatures" KS, so if you only need the game it should be available to buy from some people.

 

@Arkangel I want to sell my copy of the game but without any miniature. Let me know if you are interested in it.
