The new defersen miniature is straight tiny compared to the hospitallers. Has anybody use inquisitor Mendoza for a conversion, or perhaps anybody that has the box of smoke and mirrors can place him next to a hospitaller just so I can compared sizes before i jump the gun? I feel he should be the right size as aristeia miniatures are slightly taller than regular infinity ones.
Judging from CB's own photos, he does look like a small child compared to the Chad Hospitallers I think that's just defersen's thing though, he's always had a small model
Like exact same pose as Hospitaler Doctor. Would that be that hard to create more than 2 poses for a full troop with like 6 loadouts? I know animation actually takes time and you need professionals to do that, but still.
eh, whatever, to be honest I didn't even really notice it until you said something. at least its a step up from the previous Defersen where he couldn't be more stiff
I liked hat one :D And the new one is basically the same + that weird breast pump, but bought that anyway as well. Too bad either of them are useless, because he can't handle KHD. He should be able to handle KHD somehow.
The Svalarheima biome combined with a largely North European genetic pool could easily explain why the little Templar with the southern accent is a head and a half shorter than Søren, Einar and the other Asgardian chads. Fortunately for me (I hate helmetless HI sculpts with a burning passion) the Fatherknight Spitfire makes for a more than adequate Proxy.
I am 100% with you on the helmet thing. The million dollar cutting edge power armor cant protect you if you bare your chrome dome for all to see. I can excuse joan, whose iner workings are prob as tough as the helmet shed wear (albeit no reason to not double up on protection). Little defersen is standard flesh and blood
I don't see what the problem is, that's within normal human variation. It's not like the issues between the old Hac Tao ML and HMG, or the 2nd gen Janissary w/ rifle and sword versus either the 1st gen or 3rd gen Janissaries. Exactly! That Hospitalier doc is freaking huge, though.
hospitaller doc to defersen is certainly 2nd gen janissari to 3rd gen height difference. New hospitallers arent even as big as the tallest men in the sphere (the oversized domaru sculpts)
It is also true that the doctor hospitalists is on a taller base in the last picture. I do not think there is a huge discrepancy between the two miniatures.
The HI sculpts are way oversized - it's probably a scaling issue that the company swore they overcame. I noticed with the newest Asawira. It's still a problem. Just something you have to accept.
Might be that short, but the De Fersen model is still bulky enough to look OK. Rifle+sword Janissary (or same-generation Al Fassed and Azrail) are so tiny they're the height and bulk of current-sculpt light infantry! In the same pose, the original Azrail feuerbach only comes up to the belly of the 'new' S5 model.
Maybe he is just a small guy ;) I mean imagine Tom Cruise as DeFersen and Arnold Schwarzenegger as Hospitaller
Is anyone able to take a picture of Mendoza and the new De Fersen sculpt together, just for comparison? If people are looking into converting De Fersen, there's some easy to find examples of how to use the IceStorm FK as a base model. Or why not just use the Spitfire FK, if the height is really something people are concerned with.
Plot armor is always the best. Just check all those characaters killed in End Times. Only those with good plot armor survived xD
