My next tournament is a direct operation, so no specialist needed (or nearly). One of the 3 mission is deadly dance so I need a list with a TAG but I'm a bit at loss on how to build it. Other mussion are frontline and decapitation.

My first army was Ariadna, so no TAG there
My second army was Aleph. I used the marut quite often but he doesn't feel like Nomad TAG. WIth the marut, all your list revolve around the marut (protecting it, supporting it, repairing it) while Nomads TAG doesn't look like this.

I'm not sure if I should try iguana (nice, able to go close with his flammer but fragile) or with an Szalamendra.

Which one seems the best for deadly dance ? Can someone post some list to help me find the inspiration (vanilla, no special rules) for a TAG based list ?

FYI, my other list will be camo heavy with a strong midfield and a lot of orders.

Go Szally over Iguana. when Iguana takes 2 STR he then count as a HI rather than a TAG. While Szally is still a TAG after taking 2 STR, and even if it takes 3 STR it could be repaired back to a non-null state.

Sorry, i cannot really help you further. I played deadly dance recently, Szally vs a S6 TAG (forgot which) and I just moved up to my quadrant and sat in Supp Fire the rest of the game letting my link team do the work.

The Iguna has a repeater, which makes hacking support much easier.

And keep in mind that your own TAG is one thing,
but the opponents TAG is another topic you will have to deal with.
A Zero with repeater and E/Mauler might come in handy.
As well as a Bandit with ADHL (and KHD).

Zoe is a Hacker and Engineer,
and Carlotta an Engi with AD and ADHL.
Mary Problems has FD1 and ODD,
so might be a nice specialits for the Comms Hack.

Baggage Salyut are cheap orders that help to dominate a zone.
Or take the EVO one for supportware (and Baggage).

For my first (and only) tournament i took 2 tag lists
one with a gecko and one with a szalamandra.
This was my szally list (note that it was LI and Spec ops)

it worked to play very agressively in show of force (and because zoe killed her own lizard before i redrumed her with the szalamandra pilot)
Geckos might also work considering you could teampro them into a duo. the pilots for geckos are also really good (in my experience)

I had a very good experience in my last tournament with the heckler boarding shotgun/emarat. I was thinking of taking him to flush out the opponent TAG.

So szalamandra will be my choice (rules of cool + 3 STR are good arguments).

    I'm thinking of this :

    [IMG] Test szalamandra

[IMG] MORAN (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, CrazyKoalas (2) / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 22)
[IMG] ZERO (Minelayer) Combi Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 19)
[IMG] ZERO (Minelayer) Combi Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 19)
[IMG] HECKLER Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Combi Rifle, Cybermines / Assault Pistol, Knife. (0 | 24)
    [IMG] HECKLER Boarding Shotgun, E/Marat / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 19)
    [IMG] CLOCKMAKER Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 18)

To dominate the quadrants I need a good midfield to keep my opponent out of my zone and (ideally) out of his. As I mostly don't need specialist (changing quadrant seems random as it has half a chance to give a result good for your opponent), I will go minelayer for my zero and add a pair of moran to control the midboard.

Zoe would have been good but she is to costly and would prevent me from taking other good troops.

The heckler hacker can help me if I need to change a quadrant or he can help mine the midfield if I face a HI heavy list.

I regret taking no smoke and no baggae drone but I don't find a way to fit them without removing something I want.

What do you think of this ?

If you take the Intruder, I'm definitly missing smoke. Would cut one Zero, make the BS Heckler to an RF one, give the Clockmaker an Zondbot and add an Jaguar. (PS: Too few SWC, made the minelayer to an FO)

Given that going into deadly dance you have to be prepared to overextend the TAG to get ahead on scoring if you get screwed by the initial quadrant layout, the Gecko is the best possible choice as it's easier to get it up the table and more disposable than the other TAGs.

Hard to argue with two for the price of one. Bring the EVO Salyut too for fireteam duo and Hellcat/Meteor assassinations. Dropping a repeater or boarding shotgun directly behind your opponent's shiniest toy is super strong this season.

For what it's worth I really like this list. The Moran's and zeros can help delay in the midfield. I'm a big fan of the heckler emarat. That gun is awesome for stopping a Rambo (or tag).

I like smoke, but it's probably overkill and an order tax in this list. Surprise shot, camo, and cover allow the intruder to pretty reliably handle most things, that the Sally might struggle with.

It's a fragile list with only 2 hitters, but I like it better than adding the red fury heckler, you already have 2 guys that dominate lighter targets. Losing the board control and emarat for a somewhat redudent backup striker.

You might want to consider switching 1 Zero minelyaer for a deployable repeater/emauler. You know where the enemy tag will wan to go, so having tools to jam it up between the repeater and emauler might be worth the sacrifice of the extra mines.

Personally I'd prefer the sally to the dual gecko. The sally during active turn can deal with any enemy tag, especially with the assistance of tools like cyber mines etc., the geckos can get over powered by enemy tags with multi weapons, though that can be mitigated by the rest of your list.

    Good luck!

I'm back from my tournament and the list performed quite well.

I used it in the final of the Tournament agains a Vanilla ariadna. The szalamendra was able to take down a dog warrior, a highlander, an irhmandino, a scout e/mauler and knauf. He tanked a mine and dodged an emauler. He only took 1 damage on a lucky crit.

The strong midfield defense (mine + crazy) was good to stop enemy camo marker to reach their quarter and the heckler boarding shotgun even brought down Vassily in ARO.

Thanks you all for your advices

Your advices were interesting but I din't want loosing my emarat, he brought down to many HI/TAG for me to let him go :

Game 1 with my other list he brought down a deva/csu fireteam and make an asura run away
Game 2 with my other list he killed a Dragoes and a fusilier
Game 3 with this list, he killed Vassily in ORA and isolated knauf
