Is the Dazer limited by terrain?

It's unclear from the rules if it's ZoC template is limited or not by terrain. Could it be put into total cover, and effect something on the other size, or does cover cut off part of the template?

AFAIK ZOCs are not limited by terrain and so neither is the Dazer. It works a lot like a deployable repeater's hacking zone.

It's not a template weapon and doesn't have a blast focus, so there's nothing to limit it.

Is the limit of the where the terrain is, public information or is it best guesstimate until an action makes it public?

The rules for special terrain zones state they must be clearly represented in stone form, I plan to use a piece of string.

Okay, sure. I'm mostly wondering because it's not clear how the effect is achieved, and Sci-Fi weapons, so it could be literally anything. While not a weapon, it could be that the effect travels out from a central point (like a disco ball), with terrain limiting it, or be generated everywhere. The addition of a token in the middle with a stat line that can be destroyed seems to point to central generator/disco ball. The rules just say ZoC, which is fine for a description of it's limitation of distance, but little for the things that might limit that. While it's true that I can't think of an example of ZoC which is limited by terrain or other LoF blockers, I also can't think of anything else that has a 8" range of effect either. Mines come close, but they have a trigger area instead.

So I really find the current rules wording a bit vague, and adding a line about not being limited by terrain might be useful for other players.

    Anyway, thanks for the clarification.

Repeaters, Sniffers/Sensor and Nullifiers all have an area of effect of their ZoC, although it's only ongoing in the same way for Sniffers/Sensor and Nullifiers.

By the rules it's just ZoC, plain and simple. Smoke Grenades require the blast focus rules to stop them doing the same.

As a number of deployables such as those are s0 is there anything that actually defines their base diameter and so zoc other than the 25mm convention?

huh, never noticed Sniffer is S0. But deployable repeater and nullfiers profile have then as S1. While a repeater itself and sensor itself don't have a targetable shootable profile, so would be zoc of the trooper that has those equipment/skills. I'm sure the SNIFFER Marker is 25mm, but some token suppliers might have 10mm versions and the wiki itself don't show how big that marker is.

All the official third-party ones are 25mm, with the smaller sizes used for status tokens.

No. You're never allowed to destroy your own equipment.

I’m sorry if this is very obvious but I have been unable to find the rules for dazer in general. Judging by this thread it’s a deployable? Could someone point me to the rules for this weapon? Seems like army mobile just leaves a blank spot.

It's hilarious to me that a huge chunk of Ariadna is absolutely immune to Dazer :D
