So the real question is am I brain damaged. My recollection was that Daylami were (at some point) AVA Total in Hassassin Bharam. When I came back to playing Daylami I found them AVA5. Its less a "damn why are they ava 5" and more "Am I remembering this from reality?".
That's really strange, and I hadn't noticed it. Vanilla Haqq gets them as Total, but HB has the AVA 5, which is also on the unit PDF. I swear it wasn't like that when HSN3 dropped. I'll have to look in my book.
Yup, no total availability and no 5 man links without a spec-op outside of Muyibs and Govads (though I wouldn't take a 5 man Govad). Some strange things I hadn't paid attention to previously in HB, and I've played them a lot.
It's been like this as long as I can remember, and I used Daylami HMG on Interplanetario 1. So a long time ago :D
While I'm used to running the 4 man Ghulam links, Leila allows you to go up to 5 without having to rely on the TO running Spec Ops.
I lumped the named spec ops in with normal spec ops. They are still considered Husam (or however its spelled).
Damn, those are much cheaper than I expected. I've never really gone into that profile to look at and consider the HMG.
When you play Bahram you learn to appreciate the unexpected. There's no cheap HMG source apart from the Daylami, as the Ghilim are all always in a link.
Yeah, I discovered that some time ago when I wanted to do a full CG of Daylami and thougt: " WTF, they are a HB troop, why then have limited AVA in HB and Total in Haqq?" Its a real oddity but on the other hand, HB seems to be the Sectorial with limited AVAs as a signature property.
No, it's been like this for quite a while. You guys probably just didn't notice because Bahram was shit compared to Qapu so you must've played it less :)
Daylami are a regional militia so AVA total makes sense for vanilla. I don't really see why they're in HB other than to give them some cheap irregular troopers.
If I remember correctly, the region for which they are considered regional is the very same as, if not close to, the presumed location of HB's HQ. It's not terribly surprising that HB would be able to call on a few trusted members of certain tribes for missions.
Makes sense, it would explain the more restricted AVA as well if only the "trusted" members of the militia work alongside the Hassassins.
Okay, being serious here, I'm not sure if I'll miss the ability to field 6+ daylami. So w/e, I guess?
"Trusted" indeed... Maybe... On good terms with? Could also easily be a similar explanation for the AVA 4 of Ghulams... Ghilim... Ghilman... whatever. Gotta keep things on the downlow. Apparently more so than the general Haqq forces? I dunno.
