Question: How Dodge/Reset should be resolved against several sources of MODs? Does Dodge and Reset work similar here?

    Examples:
    1) Angus dorns Orc-brand heavy armor and immediatly gets himself hacked. He has Immobilized-B and Isolated states at the moment. He tries to Reset and nobody opposes him. Assuming he has WIP of 13 (constant abuse is a norm for him). Normal Roll.
1.1) Do modifiers (-3 from Imm-B and -9 from Isolated) stack?
1.2) If he rolls 1: both states are cleared?
1.3) If he rolls 3: Isolated is cleared? Immobilized-B is cleared? Owner chooses?
1.4) If he rolls 7: Immobilized-B is cleared?

    2) Poor Angus (in Orc heavy armor) has state Targeted, state Immobilized-B. He tries to Reset. Enemy hacker respond with another hack (of Carbonite). Face-to-Face Roll.
2.1) Do modifiers stack here? (-3 from Imm-B, -3 from Targeted)
2.2) What happens if: Angus (WIP 13) rolls 6 and enemy hacker (WIP13) rolls 10?
2.2) What happens if: Angus (WIP 13) rolls 8 and enemy hacker (WIP13) rolls 10?
2.2) What happens if: Angus (WIP 13) rolls 8 and enemy hacker (WIP13) rolls 6?

    3) Angus gets enough of hacking shenanigans for a day, throws away stupid Orc armor and immediatly steps into a MadTrap mine. He has Immobilized-B (PH-6) state at the moment. AP Mine appears in front of him (menecingly). He tries to Dodge and nobody opposes him. Normal Roll.
3.1) What happens if: Angus (PH10) rolls 6? Mine is avaided, but state remains?
3.2) What happens if: Angus (PH10) rolls 3? State is cleared and mine is avaided?
3.3) if he rolls 1 - he obviously avaided everything.

    4) Angus has Immobilized-B (PH-6) state. AP Mine is in front of him. Enemy camo-trooper is shooting him with Surprise attack (-3). He tries to Dodge. Face-to-Face Roll.
3.1) What happens if: Angus (PH13) rolls 12? fail?
3.2) What happens if: Angus (PH13) rolls 9? mine is avaided? Shot is avaided? State?
3.3) What happens if: Angus (PH13) rolls 6?
3.3) What happens if: Angus (PH13) rolls 3?

    Related rules:
    - Immobilised-A (p 157) "... The affected Trooper may cancel this state via a successful Normal or Face to Face Dodge Roll, applying the -6 PH MOD provided by this state... "
    - Immobilised-B (p 157)
    - Example of dodging a mine (p86)
    - Isolated state (p158)
    - Targeted state (p161)

From example of mine it seems like single roll has several target values to compare to. But from wording of states (and from a discussion in the middle of another thread) it seems like roll must be successfull when appling all MODs. Please help.

2022 Update: This post is 2 years old. Keep that in mind :)

1.1) Indications from the rules team is; yes they stack and the MODs to Reset are to be applied directly to the roll prior to comparing in face to face
    1.2) Definitively yes, both cleared.
1.3) As 1.1, no, neither cleared.
    1.4) As above.

2.1) As above. Yes, they stack.
    2.2) As above.
    2.3) As above
    2.4) As above

    3) Immobilized-A, my memetic for this is IMM-A for Armour related immobilization and IMM-B for BTS related immobilization
3.1) Indications from the rules team is; just like with Reset, MODs from states like this apply to the Dodge roll directly prior to comparisons in face to face. Remember that to clear states you need to win your roll, not just succeed.
3.2) As above, Angus likely has a PH of 10 so this will be a failure.
3.3) As above, Angus likely has a PH of 10 so this will be a critical success.

    4) Immobilised-A
4.1) I do not think we have received any indication whether Surprise Attack is meant to be universally applied to all of the targets rolls, but as written it does. As such, to Dodge the Mine Angus rolls PH-12 and to Dodge the sniper Angus rolls PH-9 (because the mine's -3 do not apply to other face to face rolls). To get rid of IMM-A, Angus needs to win all Dodge rolls, meaning effectively PH-12.
    4.2) As above
    4.3) As above
    4.4) As above
4.5) If Angus rolls a 1, Angus with PH of 10 will critically succeed against the sniper, but will fail against the mine.

I do believe that as of writing this we do not have an official provisional ruling nor an official answer on any of these, just indications for what's intended.
When I write "indications" I mean, I couldn't link this to you as it is what I've interpreted as being correct over a bunch of posts.

Remember that the example of a Zhanshi dodging a mine and a Fusilier is faulty and should be disregarded entirely! MODs in the box, i.e. MODs from mines, enemy activated in ZoC, and hit by template with no LOF to attacker, do not stack with each other and only apply to comparisons versus that target.

P.s. Thanks for writing this post, by the way, I'm hoping we'll get an answer to this that's both linkable and definitive. :)

This came up in a game recently. Do we have an official ruling for this by now?

    I believe so.

    https://infinitythewiki.com/Dodge
    N4 FAQVersion: 1.0, Jan 2021
Q: Do State MODs all stack with each other? For example, if a Trooper is in IMM-B and Targeted State, do they apply a -6 MOD to all their Reset Rolls?

    A: Yes

    https://infinitythewiki.com/Surprise_Attack

    N4 FAQVersion: 1.2, Jan 2022
Q: If multiple Troopers use Surprise Attack against the same target, for example via a Coordinated Order, or a Controller and Peripheral, do the Surprise Attack MODs stack with each other?

A: No. Each Trooper's Surprise Attack MOD will be applied separately. For example if a Trooper is the target of two attackers using Surprise Attack, they will only suffer one Surprise Attack MOD if they Dodge, or Attack one of the Active Troope rs.
