Title really says it all. Examples: Can a Santiago replace Joan in the Crusade Fireteam? Can Lupe replace Massacre in a Jaguar Core Fireteam (based on rumored/leaked changes)?
Yes, wildcards can replace any "required" troop in a fireteam. This includes Joan in Crusade fireteams, since there's no prohibition against it.
It would be better to see an answer from @ijw or @Koni as now we have several special fireteams in different sectorials.
We know Gromoz can replace either Scarface or Cordelia in the special Scarface+Cordelia duo in Druze, so I see no reason a Santiago could not replace Joan in a Crusade fireteam.
Ah, here it is. As I haven't found it in FAQ, I supposed it to be dropped. Then you can be right after all. Still very counter-intuitive say.
Not really, to (mis)quote Hecaton: "One way to think of it is that... the "wildcard" fireteam member... can pretend to be any other model for that purpose." So in the case of an Oznat + Hungries Fireteam, you build it with a Raktorak + 4 Gakis and point at the Raktorak and say "That's the Oznat".
After doing some looking in Army and the sectorial charts, this is not the issue I thought it was. This all came out of discussions in the Corregidor rework speculation thread. When N3 came out, Jaguars could Core on their own (I don't remember if there was a Haris profile). HSN3 changed that and added Senor Massacre as a REQUIRED member to form the Fireteam. Wildcard being added to certain units would allow that to change.
But you still need the Oznat to be able to take the Hungries in MAF. It just doesn't need to be in the fireteam. Maybe. The wording for the Hungries control device is confusing and I have no experience playing with or against any flavor of CA.
Sure. But your still prevented from going with just 5 Jags in a core: one of them needs to be Massacre or a Wildcard replacing Massacre. Which means that if 'Massacre' goes down, you can't reform the link.
Yup. But that's different to forming Fireteams. It's just the same as taking a Rudras in a Yadu Fireteam: you still need a Hacker to be allowed to take the Rudras in the first place. Edit: yeah, probably not. Re-reading the Hungries Device you actually need the equipment to make the Fireteam. I'll stop using that as an example: if it wasn't for those damn kidsthat additional requirement it'd work.
