So, finally had the time to look at (some) profiles of N4 and so far I like most of the changes, some more than others. These two change though, simply baffles me and I don't see how it can have anything but a negative impact on many games? Nomads medium infantry, particularly Wildcats and Reverend are one of the most obnoxious things you could face for some reason, and some even speculate that this Nomads archetype was almost solely responsible for Yu Jings saltiness. So when N4 launches and MI get buffed with rules like NCO and Msv1, why in the world would you then also go ahead and give (one of the strongest and detested types of infantry in the game) these bonuses. That's a massive change and legit the one I've been the most shocked to see in N4. Just my two cents. Otherwise I'm looking very much forward to playing N4. Now 6 pages of responses and we get another point cost reduction for Wildcats and Moiras.
Lemme try something here... *coughcough* Sooo Intruders are far too powerful in any and all missions where you have to hold quadrants or where point costs in general are concerned. They are just worth too much! They are camoflaged too so you can't even kill them. I would propose to reduce their points to make those missions more balanced where Intruders are involved. Also what about giving them an Ltd profile so there is more risk involved when they singlehandedly hold entire tablequarters by themselves?
Who said anything about the Moran Maasai? This post was clearly about how OP Reverend and Wildcats are now. However if you know anywhere else which is more effective to redirect the complaint about how these models are game-warpingly strong...
I see Nomads are keen on joining YJ and PanO in the salt mines. Please don't forget to grab a safety helmet.
Joke's on you, we already had safety helmets and vests. NOSHA is best OSHA!* *The "N" is for "Nomad", not a clever way of making it into "NOSHA", as in "No OSHA".
I would like to believe you, but after following CB forums all this years, and seeing how they work...
This thread confused me and sent me to go find out Moran got quick changed. I really hope it's true that forum posts didn't affect their decision making. I actually had a thought that they should just split the repeater/camo profiles, I'm surprised it happened. I like this fine but... aren't they too cheap? I wasn't paying attention, what did their cost go down from? I'm not complaining but isn't that 5 points down from the N3 profile? Seems crazy low to me. But I feel kinda cozy having my exact same Moran profile back, I didn't ask for it to be changed, and it's an old friend. Anyways back on topic, obviously it's bull that Wildcats got MSV1 right when it can see thru smoke. With access to SS2 from a link? Yeah they need to quick change the MSV off on them to keep us balanced. Maybe just leave it on the HRL to keep its cost up... man I would hate that.
Isn't the cost reduction worth it? Or is it just me? That's so cheap. For once I'm ok with the 2 AVA I don't want to be tempted to spam them.
Well, they cost around those points. Repeaters are expensive after all (specially forced built in ones). Same for camo (look intruder, he is so expensive only because of camo, if not he would be 1-2 points more than a nisse)
I'm just saying I think I prefer having them split so I can pick between 2 cheaper profiles. A lot of times I don't bring hacking and the repeater is just useless anyways.
If this was the Moran's state right when we got N4 profiles everyone would have been psyched. edit: maybe they did this to soften the blow of Moran going down in cost so much. Now the other factions won't notice that one of our highest picked most useful troops cost a hair more than a cheerleader.
I agree! 30+ points for 1w model with NCO in an army without LT2 is just ridiculous! They should nerf them immediately by giving them shock immune + NWI and LT2 for Kusanagi!
for 14 points you have a morat vanguard, and for 3 points more you got the new moran, sounds balanced atleast the camo + repeater is gone
Compare the 'limited Camo' Combi version to a Zero FO who is 2pt more expensive. The Zero has 'full' Camouflage, and +1PH, but the Maasai has +1BS, D-Charges, and 2 CrazyKoalas instead of 3 Mines. Anyway, I'm just happy that there's now a Specialist Boarding Shotgun option, that always bugged me in previous editions. EDITED for typos...
