Title says it. Trying to access the web app on a tablet results in a redirect to the 'get the mobile app' page, and silly enough, there's a link to the web app on the landing page. Very annoying for those of us who prefer to use the web app when possible because of such things as pinch to zoom ( as eyes age, small print gets harder to read), which the app does not do. There are other web app features that make it better to use for me. Setting the mobile browsers to desktop mode does not work, nor does changing the user agent to mimic a desktop browser, nor does blocking redirects. A solution would be very welcomed, and that may include changing things on CB's end to stop the redirect. I gather they need to get the forum stabilized, again, first. Thank you for any help. I apologize if this has been addressed in the past. A forum search revealed nothing helpful. I've been away from Infinity for a while ( like the entirety of N4. Long story) and would like to start up again, even though CB killed my sectorial (ASA) >:|
Hi I'm a software engineer that works on web development and in general there are tow way that developer use to control this, one of them is checking the device, but the other one is just checking the screen to make sure it is supported by the app and if not redirect to somewhere else, in this case they are clearly using the second, it can be bypassed by changing the zoom of the browser just make it 50% and enter after that just restore it back to your prefer option. Mind you the web probably will be a bit wonky since it wasn't design for that resolution, i tried in my phone and it worked perfectly.
Thank you. Your solution does work. I'm using it on a tablet, and it renders just fine, and pinch to zoom works, which is what I needed. The forced redirect seems rather hostile to user intent. Ah well. I doubt CB will change it. The mobile app lacks certain features ( print to PDF, Pinch to Zoom) and renders text poorly with larger system fonts. See how it is cut off with the system font set incrementally larger.
