I've been off the forums for a while and not sure if there has been any leaks on them. Curious what people think the load out on this guy is. I'm assuming its Combat jump, Heavy Pistol. I don't recognize the rifle. Is it a new Marksman rifle sculpt? The sculpt in general looks big for an MI, could it be HI.
Red Fury with the foregrip not extended. And yeah. looks HI. Feet+lower Legs make me think he could be a remote even.
Nah, I'd guess it is your basic trooper, maybe a veteran Ragik, in the armor. I'd half-expect it to be 1W NWI airdroppable HI, as otherwise YJ would get all too salty. Maybe even 1W Dogged (just with decent ARM & BTS) to not step to much on YJ toes. Otherwise it would be way too close to making Ragik obsolete :( Plus, I'd keep Ragiks as airdroppable specialists, making Bokhtar purely a gunfighter (no Specialsit profiles).
I expect it to be Liu Xing's arabian friend with a little twist in form of a special skill like mimetism if we're being uncreative or hopefully something more fun
I think it Will be a HI. It has servo- muscles and its chest remember other haqq HI. For the "rockets" y expected super-jump. Parachutist and super jump could be a relative unique combo. Cheers
I honestly have no idea where to guess on this one as I don't really feel like were missing a job to be done. I could see 1 W + NWI (dogged just feels like a cop out for a Ragik with big armor). I could see explode on landing with that huge landing pack, and Red Fury makes me think an assault unit of somekind.
I see this guy as stepping on Ragik's toes already. With big armored boots. Ragiks aren't exactly cheap, especially the Spitfire and Hacker variants. And this guy is bound to be more survivable, in that HI armor. So, how many are we going to see together? Unless, of course, Ragiks get an overhaul as well. Make the two units different, rather than better and worse versions of roughly the same troop.
I have a hunch the Bokhtar is going to completely eat the Ragik's lunch on release. Despite being our only AD troop there's almost no reason to field it unless you're desperate for a deep striking hacker. We can safely assume it's boasting more firepower and durability than the Ragik so it's going to outshine it as an assault troop and if it has specialist profiles then....oof. I'm kind of hoping it's more in the vein of a hyper mobile Asawira, a 6-2 HI with super jump at which point it has to battle with our best-in-slot HI, but maybe it's skillset will allow it to be more of a lone operator where as the Asawira benefits a lot from being in a fireteam.
On a metagame level, there are very good reasons to regularly field AD troops every few games, even if those are run of the mill AD (and the Dogged Ragik is pretty dang good for an AD trooper). It causes opponents to devote resources to covering their backfield/DZ very carefully, making them more cautious and less able to pour all their strength into striking your forces or resisting your other gambits. Having AD -plus- the Impersonator(s) that HB field basically every game is a whole lot of psychological impact on regular opponents’ selection of forces and actual play. You’ll have opponents second-guessing themselves all day long.
I generally agree with this notion in a vacuum but I suppose I should clarify the position I'm coming from, specifically in the context of HB. When allocating points to DZ harassment, you can take a Fiday and a Ragik or for the same points or fewer you can just take 2 Fidays. Granted after you've exhausted your AVA you can now start adding Ragiks but that's now 25% of your points you've dedicated to your OP's backline alone. I can see missions and matchups where you might want to go this hard but we also have so many good skirmishers it's important to spend points there too so you have midfield covered as well as the back. Now granted the Ragik can be better at picking their moment with the ability to just appear exactly where you need the gun at the right time but I generally prefer the extra utility the 2nd Fiday offers, having a pair makes it just a massive order toilet for your OP.
Regardless of what she ends up being like, id like to give CB kudos on creating a female HI model that isnt immediately recognizable as female. Great job yall.
On occasion you will want to skip the hidden deployed Nadhir and plop a Ragik in there. In a regular play group it will open up the uncertainty of which way you want after the inevitable point counting.
I can definitely see a difference between an AD HI with redfury versus a a dogged model specialist. A spitfire is a great drop weapon and a redfury has a bad habit of not cutting it against armor.
I can disagree more, but each to their own. But, what I will give CB props for is making it look like the Tau Crisis Battle Suit from Warhammer 40K. Good memories. As for my thoughts I’m going with 6-6 movement, super jump, terrain total, tac aware, armor five, two wounds and dogged.
Okay but can we talk about how ling her neck has to by to fit that helmet???? Or how long her arms would need to be??? She has too look like an eldritch horror in that suit...
