I'm going to be forced into playing Biotechvore this weekend. I do not have any experience with this mission whatsoever.
Honestly, after reading the mission, I almost signed off the tournament. It's a pain in the rear to prepare for and to play it, too, I bet.
I definitely won't be able to take my 4 Chaksa and 3-4 Kaauri with me.

In my opinion, there two ways of approaching the game:

    First: The passive approach
Going second and wait for your opponent to slowly crawl out of his 8“ deployment zone, while outranging anything they've got with at least two snipers. Depending on the opponent, limit their use of command tokens to 1 in order to prevent coordinated orders.
The opponent shouldn't be able to cause too much dmg to my army, since they'd have to use all their ressources to get out of the biozone.
After that, I should be able to get my guys out and one of my attack pieces into combat for a good ol' alpha strike.

    Second: the proactive approach
Use a list with all triades for efficient movement, while getting out of the zone asap. Makauls should help there.
Using a triad of draal and two makauls to approach the edge of the opponents bio zone, dropping 3 dazers across the board, preferably at around 14“. If possible, position makaul and draal to further stop the approach of the opponents models, who have to walk through dazer zones.
This approach seems to have a lot of potential, might not work due to a lack of orders, though.

How was your experience with this abomination, Corvus Belli dares to call an ITS11 mission (while kicking out Frostbyte)?
    Any tips?

Links are key to getting that movement. In my general experience the defensive approach is rough for Biotechvore since the player going first spends a good chunk of their orders moving out and then the second player has to actually push into any remaining pieces that made it to the midfield.

Units like the Taquel, Neema and Ectros should all do alright hanging in your DZ for a turn. So contemplate bringing in some heavy hitters and leaving them back to get blasted once.

Similarly the confused deployment makes midfield deployers less good then you would expect. It can very all or nothing for them. I'd focus on inexpensive camo units that I dont mind sacrificing in an emergency.

If this is at an event how many rounds and what other missions? It would be helpful to have a feel for how you're going to want to build your lists to accommodate the other missions.

The other two missions are Countermeasures (it's everywhere right now!) and a custom mission that is basically a kill mission where you need some specialists to activate flippable objectives.

Another question I have ist: Does the hit from the zone force me to use a symbiomate? That would probably deter me from bringing Neema.

Edit: I am planning on building a list solely for Biotechvore.

I haven't played much this mission, but I've always used both approaches at the same time: let the oponent go first and face some nasty ARO's (like linked Gao-Rael, so he cannot hide under a Smoke screen, coupled with a Nikoul) and is forced to waste some Orders, and then in my turn I proceed to move out quickly thanks to Triads and the Order efficiency they provide.

And, as pointed above, some of our troopers have high BTS and/or several Wounds, so you can risk leaving some people behind (like the poor Nikoul, if he managed to survive the Active enemy troopers shooting at him)..

I'm pretty sure it should. Its a BTS save after all right?

I actually sort of like the idea of running Dual Nikoul with Mates in the list in that case. If you go first you can place them aggressively on firelanes and rely on the mates to save them from the zone Turn 1. If you go second they can deploy aggressively in the same place and just plan on them dieing to your opponent pushing out. They should be a pain in your opponent's rear at the very least.

I could see this doing good. You've got a cheap Impersonator to try and be a pain for your opponent + 2 Nikouls to lock down your opponents push out. Then a good solid main group with the Taqeul able to tank a hit reliably and then a pair of Triads to push out agressively.

It feels so rough playing this few orders.

This is what I've come up with before creating this thread:

I didn't feel too good about it, though, especially the lack of msv2 feels bad, as I expect a lot of smoke from my opponents.
That's why I started this discussion in the first place.

Now I am thinking about something that's more like your approach, @TheRedZealot:

    B-vore
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    GROUP 1[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]10 [IMG]5
NEEMA Lieutenant (Advanced Command) Breaker Combi Rifle, Panzerfaust, Nanopulser / Viral Pistol, Shock CCW. (+1 | 46)

This list might have trouble doing classifieds, though.

I played Biotechvore once in a tournament, I had a defensive triad I think 2 gao sniper and 1 sukeul missile launcher all with mates that I simply left in the DZ covering enemy area as much as possible, the opponent hated me for it and I think nearly all 3 survived till the end with some lucky rolls...
Edit: gao to sukeul thanks to Abrilete

As much as I'd love this profile to exist, I think that probably you meant a "Sukeul Missile Launcher".

I like both lists over all, though I dont feel as though Mates are good enough to make 2 sets valuable any more. The utility of bombs would be nice instead, with White Noise and Eraser.

Yeah, I usually only pack one pair of Mates, too, even before the changes. The first list brings a Kriigel for that purpose, though and I feel like the ARO pieces might need the extra protection here.
I could easily see you beeing right, though.

During my break today, I also made an LI version to negate any order reduction. I just can't decide properly. The first list certainly fits my style of play the most.
